Hello,

I'm still trying to decide if I want to take the plunge and get an Eos. I am interested in getting the Komfort (since I want a manual transmission). But I also want blueooth. The dealership assured me it can be done ... and that dialing could be accomplished through the touch-screen (since it doesn't have buttons on the steering wheels). I was wondering if anyone had this set up and how it works. Does it go through the touch screen? is it easy to use? Does the bluetooth sounds good? Nice volume? Folks hear you on the other side well? This all gets stuffed into my decision on whether to get the car so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Snowdall

My wife just got a Komfort.

We had Navigation, bluetooth and the Ipod adapter added.

As you said, there are no steering wheel controls so to interface with the phone she has to physically manipulate the phone to dial numbers and answer calls. She hears the phone ring through the cars audio system and the radio turns off but since there are no controls to answer the phone, remotely, she has to accept the call on her phone.

Make sure the dealer installs what VW calls "VOLK-L" without it, you will not hear the phone through the car's audio.
My shitty dealership, tried to make us purchase VOLK-L after the care was delivered to the dealership. This was after I negotiated Bluetooth into the purchase price. They said 'ya you wanted Bluetooth but, you didnt get "Volk-L"
My response was thats like buying a car and then having to pay for tires because I didnt specify I wanted tires.
After a loud argument with them in the showroom, they decided to do the right thing and install it with no extra charge to me. CRIMINALS!!

In the Handout for Volk-L is specifically states that you do not have to have steering wheel buttons for it to work. But it also says, that the phone will still be needed to interface with.

I am not Sure what they are talking about when they say touch screen controls.. My guess, is they dont know what they are talking about.
Press them and make sure they know what they are talking about because my dealership certainly didnt.

This is the first time I am actually looking forward to all the surveys they send after you buy a car. I cant wait!

Hi Snowdall

I am not sure what comes standard in the Komfort model but have you considered upgrading the ICE (in car entertainment) system for a touch screen one. I wanted bluetooth in my Individual and the dealer quoted me about £200 for the parrott one, but I then found out that Zenec do after market systems which are designed to match shape/curve etc in the dash and they come with bluetooth, touch screen and satnav. They have a new one due out (in fact it is overdue) esepcially designed for the golf6 chassis, the NC2010. Its an upgrade on their current NC2000.

I decided to hold until that comes out and put my £200 towards that

Everyone,

Thanks for the responses and help everyone. Sadly, my job currently is in limbo, so until that all gets worked out I'm going to have to put the Eos on hold. I'm hoping things will be sorted by the end of Feb.

That having been said, I have done some reading up on the Vokl system and that seems to be the one that I want. I've heard of some really good thrid party systems, but I also want the Sirius radio with the live traffic. Still, I have some time to think about it.

Thanks,
Snowdall
