Howdy Aussie EOS drivers,

I've just got my EOS and iPhone 3G and been trying to pair it with factory fitted genuine VW EOS bluetooth.
The iPhone can't find my EOS bluetooth! My two year old Sony Ericsson worked great with no problems I could even play and control mp3s from the phone through the touch screen or buttons on the steering wheel.

Has anyone in Australia successfully paired their iPhone 3G with EOS?
If yes, please tell me how.

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks TD5!
That's a great news.
Is your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3Gs? Mine is just iPhone 3G and so far no luck pairing with the bluetooth.

In Aus VW fitted many styles of bluetooth

Initially they were the French " Parrot" system and later the Aus ( Braeside Vic) "Ego" system

Have a look at your old Sony Ericson as what it used to pair up with

If it is the parrot V5.10C as I have then there should be no problems as I went from a Sony E to Iphone 3gS

The Ego sytem is a bit touchy but the guys at Braeside were extremely helpfull and we went through all of their kits and tried - about 6 different ones from various software hardware combinations before it all got too hard and they finished up putting in the Parrot which is brilliant

Thanks Fred.
It's just so annoying that all other brand phones work realy well like Sony Ericsons, Nokias and Black Berries. I wonder iPhone 3G's bluetooth system is different to the 3Gs'.

I think the upshot is that for reasons unknown, VAG have decided to foist a very second rate bluetooth system onto Australian buyers. The solution, if you have an RNS510, is to get hold of the Skoda bluetooth kit. Works a treat even with an iPhone 3GS.
