I think the upshot is that for reasons unknown, VAG have decided to foist a very second rate bluetooth system onto Australian buyers. The solution, if you have an RNS510, is to get hold of the Skoda bluetooth kit. Works a treat even with an iPhone 3GS.

Howdy Aussie EOS drivers,
I've just got my EOS and iPhone 3G and been trying to pair it with factory fitted genuine VW EOS bluetooth.
The iPhone can't find my EOS bluetooth!
My two year old Sony Ericsson worked great with no problems I could even play and control mp3s from the phone through the touch screen or buttons on the steering wheel.
Has anyone in Australia successfully paired their iPhone 3G with EOS?
If yes, please tell me how.
