Aloha All,
Has anyone had a bluetooth devise installed in your car? I have seen visor models that interface with the stereo. Please share.
Thanks,
Lopaka

I have a Parrot bluetooth in mine which interfaces with the stereo. It's mounted just ahead of the gearlever over the two blank switches so it doesn't get in the way of anything and is pretty well out of sight from prying eyes.

It works a treat (most of the time!)

Just got my new 2009 EOS Lux. It has the RNS510 Radio Navigation System. I am a retired math & computer science Prof. and I try to only do things right. I want to add the bluetooth premium kit to my RNS 510. My understanding is: It takes the dealer 1-2 hours and the part number is 1K0 051 437. I have not confirmed that with a dealer. I want to use the MFD (multi function display) between the speedometer and tach to see the phone address book, person calling etc.. I've looked into the parrot CK3100 which looks like a great unit. It just seems to me that since VW will have BT as an option later in the production year as I hear. I think I willl wait until the dealers have done a few cars and then I have mine done. It might be best to wait and have it integrated properly with the phone button & MFD working well together. Give me some feedback if you have something to add.

I have a bury handset that works with the stereo, the handset is about £60 and fitting is around £80 in the UK. The good thing with the bury is that the handset cradle just unclips so when you change your phone you can buy a new handset cradle for that model.

vw volk-l

just got mine installed. parts and install cost 493(dollars) works great. my phone rings, radio/cd go off and i hit phone button on strearing wheel to answer. mic is by rear view mirror. sound is excellent. volume control is again with stearing wheel or volume knob. people say i sound fine loud/ clear no backround noise. the only thing is i haven't tried with top down yet, but i know i won't have problem hearing caller my volume has great range. not sure how they will hear me. as for numbers being displayed. none. but it's a simple well sounding system that won't void warrenty. can play music from phone and use voice prompts maybe depending on the phone.best of all it helps here in the state of california where hands free is the law now. you can check it out at govolkl.com it's simple and easy great for the techno challenged like me..:D

There are 2 part numbers for the EOS regarding bluetooth. Cars with nav made after week 45 get factory bluetooth.

1Z0 035 729 A - Option 9W3: All purpose car phone prep (High NAR)
1K8 035 730 - Options 9W2 and 9W8: Car Phone Prep

Hi all, I just got a 08 Eos Lux. I had the VolkL installed 2 weeks ago. I don´t like the fact that it does not show who is calling on my MFD or the radio display and it does not allow me to place a call from the steering wheel, I have to dial from my phone.
Does anyone know of a Bluetooth system (that does not require extra screens, displays or devices in my car, just to use my steering wheel button and the built in mic) that let´s you see who´s calling and place a call from you wheel?
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I bought the BT integration from VW when I bought my car, and I found it lacking. I have a Komfort, so I don't have any steering wheel buttons, but I still expected more out of the integration.

PROS: The installed mike next to the map light buttons works well, even with the top down. You can hear the caller clearly, and they can hear you. When a call comes in, the radio mutes, and displays "phone active" or some such thing.

CONS: A big one-- you can 't answer the phone by hitting a button on the radio. You have to fish the phone out of your pocket and hit the button to answer.

I knew that, without steering wheel controls, I'd miss out on some functionality, but not being able to answer the call without handling the phone is huge drawback. And it is even worse, now that I've switched to an iPhone, which is hard to answer by touch.

Yes, VolkL is a dissapointment. However, I have been researching and read something about a BT called Fiscon that seems to be pretty good. It allows you to look at the directory in your MFD and see who is calling.
Has anybody tried this?
