Car was in 'closed' roof position, performed the 'open' routine without errors. Later opend the boot/trunk and can not securely close it again. This also prevents me from closing the roof/CSC, despite attempts to follow the 'Emergency CSC Close' instructions in the manual (which says you may still be able to execute the close even if the boot lid won't secure....so much for that).

Anyone else had this trouble? Had the car 15 months now, 2008 model, first problem I've had other than the oil guzzling.

DOH! thanks so much, but no luck here. I tried it several times - both with the boot release button on the remote engaged and not (for good measure); also with manipulation of the latching mechanism as well....it made so much sense, for what other purpose is that darn square anyway? Will try again in the am before heading to the dealer - will be quite chilly in the morning - 40F - so my fellow Atlanta commuters will get a laugh I'm sure. Thanks for the assistance, will post the results.

Turns out it was a faulty boot latch - showed up unannounced at the dealer at 7:30am - was back out the door in 45 mins with a new latch and a closed roof. Dealer says they haven't seen it before on the EOS, but they sure figured it out very quickly. All good - rain will be here on Weds, so problem fixed. Thanks so much for the advice!

I fixed this same problem by forcing closed the lid's metal latch. Then closed the lid as best I could. This fooled the computer into thinking the lid was locked closed. I then cycled the CSC closed, then open and that fixed the whole problem.
