My wife and I looked at the C70, A4 Cabriolet, Solara Convertible, and 3-Series Convertible, and settled on the Eos.

We've had our Eismeer Blue Komfort 6-speed for just over two weeks now, and we're loving it. We found one optioned out the way we liked (i.e., minimal options) at a local dealer, and got a great price with minimal haggling. Helped that it had a manual tranny and had been sitting on the lot since last fall. The car will primarily be my wife's daily driver.

I've already bought the Bentley repair manual CD-ROM and the Ross-Tech Micro-CAN VAG-COM setup. I enjoy working on our vehicles, obviously. I've already retrofitted an aux-in jack to replace the iPod adapter we wouldn't use. This weekend I'll be installing a dash cubby, underseat tray, and EDM headlight switch (and disabling DRLs while I'm at it).

There's a lot of VW information out there, and this site looks to be helpful from an Eos-specific standpoint.

Welcome to the forum!

I just saw that no-one had replied to your post - although you didn't have any questions, so perhaps that is not so surprising.

Anyway, welcome!

There is a lot of technical info on this site, but it looks as though you don't need that.

Don't spend all your time tinkering at this time of year, though; now is the time to be out on backroads with the lid down!

Cheers

Ok, and doesn't that 6-speed stick shift just make it? I test-drive the dsg but then tried the 6-speed and had to have it!

It sure does - we'd never buy a vehicle with an automatic, DSG or otherwise, so it was nice that there was a good selection of 6-speed Eos to choose from at the local dealers. There aren't too many models of four-passenger convertibles available in the States with a manual, so I give VW credit for bucking the trend.

I'm still getting used to the pattern, though, because the Eos is my wife's daily driver. After a week of driving my CRX or Dakota, when we go out on the weekend and I'm behind the wheel of the Eos I have to think, "Okay, reverse is up and to the left..."
