Just to make sure that I am not going mad, I would like to run my Xenon lights problem by you and perhaps you could tell me if your car is different.

When driving, the light beams go right down low so that you cannot see more than about 20 - 25 yards in front of the car.

When I look straight ahead I cannot see anything whatsoever as the road is not lit up beyond the initial yards as I mention above.

The sales guy took the car out last night and his words were 's**t, if there was a cyclist, I would have killed him before I even saw him'.

Hi Gavin!
I have got xenons, I do notice a concentrated beam on the road ahead, it is as if the lights are dipped and need to be raised, but I have not been affected by this to the degree that you are saying. Is it not possible to gain access to another car with xenons for the evening so as to compare.
You are more than welcome to try mine, I have no problem meeting you at a midway point. Any excuse to drive my car suits me lol

My Xenons seem a bit high if anything and I do get flashed by oncoming drivers occasionally even though I'm on dipped beams.

When I first got the car I thought they'd fitted the wrong switch because I couldn't adjust them from inside but then of course found out about the mandatory self-adjusting so there's nothing I can do.

Must say mine work supremely well and give a brilliant light. I would always choose them from now on.

Hi Gavin,

I did a comparison between my EOS and my wifes kid ferry, a Peugeot 807 MPV. Both have Xenon lights.

Sad I know but a lined them up along side each other to compare the beam pattern and throw of light.

I have to admit that the EOS beam does cut off a little sharper than the 807's but distance wise there was no real difference.

I have to say though, that having such bright light does make you feel that they could light up a bit more distance.

Hope that helps.

I suppose I could be even sadder and measure the distance the light spreads. Mmm, maybe later.

My Xenons are fantastic - they are possibly a little high on low beam as I also get flashed occassionally however it is usually as you are coming over a rise in the road and the other driver is below the "normal" height. When I drive my wife's Golf V - which I thought had terrific lights - I now have to check to see that they are on!! Would suggest you get yours checked - maybe the auto levelling function is not working correctly. I especially like the slow turn side lights. Good Luck
