I came across this photo on a German Scirocco forum. The radio in my Eos is the same, but I don't have the funky pink & blue colour scheme (mine is boring grey & black). Can you change the colours somewhere in one of the menus?

RNS 510 Display Variants

Yes, you can - as far as I am aware there are three display 'variants' for the screen display labelled as - Sportsline, Highline and Premium in Vag.com.

You can switch between them by using vag.com to alter the settings of controller 37 (navigation) Bit 4 and Bit 5 of Byte 7 - see more here - It is labelled 'Display Variant' (Simply choose Sportsline, Highline or Premium from within the Vag.com menu to alter the value of this memory location)

Vag.com coding details for RNS 510 display settings

You have to 'reboot' the RNS 510 by pressing the <, > and eject buttons together before the change will be shown.

Mine is normally set to Sportsline, and it looks like this.

Changing it to Premium makes it look like this

Thanks for your reply. Forgive my ignorance, but what is vag.com? Do I have it somewhere in my OBC or RNS radio, or do I need to ask the dealer?

Vag.com

Vag.com (now called vcds I think) is a laptop based piece of software that allows you to change many settings of your Eos when your laptop is connected to the diagnostic port under the steering wheel with a suitable cable - more details can be found here.

Link to Vag.com Info

Alternatively, your VW dealer has a similar diagnostic tool that can access and alter the same memory settings

Vag.com

Forum participants from countries other than the UK can find their nearest VAG.COM distributor on the following link:

I suggest this product is for the dedicated D.I.Y. car enthusiast who has a working knowledge of electronic management systems - a "weekend tinkerer" could easily get into trouble by misusing this equipment to the financial advantage of their local VW service centre.

jool

Have a look under the tech thread for third party fitments, you will see severaly noted in there that will fit your Eos

Zenec do two NC2000 and MC2000, but you need another unit with the MC for the stanav to work. You will be lucky to find the NC2000 in stock any where as it is being replaced by a new model the NC2010, which I am informed will hit the Uk market towards the end of this month.
