Hi all

I've put a deposit down on a 2.0 TDi Sport - Shadow Blue - Cornsilk Beige leather - not sure when I take delivery - maybe next week. I have to say that having read all the comments about leaks etc I was quite worried about whether I'd done the right thing. Thank Goodness I found this forum - you've all put my mind at ease with your enthusiasm about the car :D I'm sooo excited about it - I've never had an expensive car before so really wanted to make the right choice.

Now....how do I keep the interior looking lovely with a mucky 5 yr old? Do VW do a matching leather bag that I can zip him into?

Hi, and welcome. I'm also a recent "joiner" and found the site very useful. I've been driving my Eos since 1st March and just love the car. Top up it's a fantastic drive, top down is just magical. I'm sure you'll love it, too.

'Fraid I can't give advice on mucky 5 yr olds, but have plenty of recent experience of mucky teenagers - probably not a lot of difference!!

So, enjoy the excitement of waiting for your car, it'll be worth it... :) :) :)

Glad to hear you're happy :D

I have to say I was a bit blasé about buying the car. I didn't really want to stretch to new so settled for Apr 07 with 4k miles - the car is coming from another dealer so I haven't seen it in the flesh yet. When I see all the sigs with all the extras that people have I wonder if I should have been a little more selective about the car I chose  I now know that there is such a thing as an Individual - which I really like the look of - I love 2 tone leather. I think I got carried away after the test drive and looking at the shiny new one in the showroom! I basically chose the lowest price and said "I'll have that one!" lol

Anyhow, really looking forward to it. My OH thinks I should get the MF wheel fitted. Is it worth it?

Hi first of all welcome to the site, i have both the wind deflector and the MF steering wheel the wheel aint that great i'll be honest and the wind deflector ive not used yet but im guessing it will be handy lol.

as for mucky 5 year olds with cornsilk leather i recommend the autoglym leather cleaner its fantastic as i had some staining on my cornsilk leather and its come out with that you should be able to get it from halfords its about £6 a bottle.

Hi Steph

I've been reading a few of your posts:D

The dealer is autoglyming inside & out for me so I'm hoping it's good stuff! I also plan to carry a HUGE pack of baby wipes. I just hope I don't end up nagging him cos I'm being precious about the car....;)

I don't think I'll bother with the steering wheel in that case.

Wind Deflector

I'd recommend the wind deflector if you're at all worried about the wind - it's not that much (considering what you're paying for the car) and it makes quite a bit of difference on the open road.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Those who have the steering wheel seem to like it (bit too late to change your mind once you have the car!), I decided against and am glad I didn't bother. The wind deflector is a total 'must have' and makes a real difference when your 'topless' so to speak, and believe it or not, and my wife has tested it, having the bug catcher up when the roof is down really does seem to make a difference. The autoglym inside and out is also well worth having as far as I'm concerned. Good luck on delivery, as you have already read we all love the car.

Thanks for the welcome! Nice to meet you all....

Now all I have to do is wait! Forgot to mention that the VW dealer has said that I can take the car in every 3 months and they will clean inside & out for free! Do all VW dealers offer that service? I was quite pleased with that.

Wow! My dealer was great on the deal itself but this sounds like yours are going the extra mile - that's good for all of us as what your dealer is doing now, all dealers will be doing in a year's time!!!

Crikey where are you? Can't possibly be in the UK?
Although my dealer does always wash the car when it goes in for anything so they do try hard. They even detailed the wheels and tyres last week on its 2nd major service!

Steph, you are absolutely spot on about the dark coloured jeans. It gives a blue tint to the cream leather. But as previously said, autoglym does the job.
I also need to confess that in order to give myself less work, I ask my children to either take their shoes off or put on some plastic shoe covers so that I don't spend my entire free time cleaning the back of the front seats. I know it is very sad, but it is also practical. They are quite happy to do it. The funniest was when they checked whether I have asked the work colleagues I do car share with to wear the shoe covers. Having a beige interior is a true labour of love you know...

That's funny! I was thinking about getting some of those shoe covers for when I collect my son from sports with his muddy trainers on! I'd be worried about being spotted putting them on him though...lol. As you say, they do kick their feet up against the back of the front seat.

This is going to be a nightmare! ;)
