Hi that's useful but the part I am trying to identify is the black sliding section that has a hinge attached 😆They are the outer steel sheaths of the Octopus cables with a layer of foam tube covering to reduce noise from metal to metal contact. Search and learn about the EOS Octopus cables and the sunroof/shade driving system. Getting access to the blind and sunroof drive requires a lot of roof part dismantling done in a way that measurements are made before you even think about using a wrench. What matters is getting parts back aligned with no roof water leaks afterwards.
This is probably one of the most specialised roof repairs that can be done and you should get and read the workshop manual first. Many who attempt this repair without electo- mechanical experience (e.g repairing aircraft and space rockets!) crash and burn, particularly if influenced by bad YouTube videos. Unfortunately, the shop manual doesn't have everything and you have to think outside the box with what little information is there.
