I do not like the 'feature' of the car automatically locking the doors after I get out of it. It seems to lock after about 5 minutes - I'd like to be able to get back into my car without having to unlock it using the key fob. I've read through the manual and didn't see any info on this. Any ideas out there? Thanks!!:)

Is this a NA thing?
If the doors or boot have been opened my Eos will not automatically relock them.
If the Eos has been locked and I unlock it and then I don't open the car, it will relock (same as my D3).

Mine doesn't do that and I'm sure about it. I keep my Eos in the garage and when I want to get into it later, I just open the door. I don't remember anything in the setup to activate a feature such as that. The only automatic door lock that I know about is the trunk which locks after a certain period of time. At least I think it does.

Some VAG cars have a feature that if the car is unlocked but the fob is in the vacinity it thinks you have forgotten and locks the doors. (It was a feature with my Toyata as well.) Not sure if the setting is default or has to be set in the cars software.

In the UK, this option is under the Settings menu in the MFD. Might not be available in the US cars. Default for us is OFF, so I can select auto locking, but haven't.

Just checked mine. I had the top down but should be the same up or down. I hit the unlock button on the keyfob to unlock the driver's door. After 30 seconds the door relocks. Pushed the unlock button and opened and then closed the door. When I came back about 90 minutes later, the door was still unlocked. Either there is a program change after 07 or yours is defective. You will have to check with your dealer (assuming they can figure out what you are talking about). I looked in my owner's manual and they don't address this timing issue.

Hi Andy - this could be considered one of my "blonde moments." I did what you had done.....pushed the unlock button and opened and then closed the door. When I came back about an hour later, the door was still unlocked. I must have been doing the wrong combination of everything to just keep locking it, without really realizing it. I'm good now!!! Such an awesome car - today is almost 90 degrees...can't wait to get out of work and cruise on home. Thanks to you and everyone.
