Have just picked up Eos from garage following third visit for water leaks in roof. New seals fitted again. One day later and the windscreen is iced all over again. Have been told by garage this is a characteristic of the car and we should expect this as condensation does happen on this vehicle. Has anyone had same or similar problems. Taking car to another garage for second opinion as suggested by VW UK. Any comments would be appreciated as it is driving me mad.

I presume you are talking about the inside surface of the windscreen, if so I would hesitate to say what the garage is advsiing is a load of codswallop. yes you may experience some condensation from the air con unit, but not enough to cause ice formation on the inside of the screen. For my vote the amount of dampness casuing "ice" was due to the fact your car was not fully dry from the seal replacement you have just had, or it indicates there is still a problem.

You can always ask VW Uk to send out one of their regional engineers to look at your car, and act as arbitrator.

Which manufacturer in their right mind would design a car with a characteristic which allows ice to form on the inside of the screen
