can someone paste a close up of this?
mine was early one without and was thinking of adding
vw cost is rediculous and assume you must change the whole grill
was wondering if it could be done with chrome strips
dont laugh

He got them with the car. They are standard fit, certainly on the sport models

as geedee says, these are standard Sport grills, although some of the earliest models missed out.

gogg, yours looks like mine without the chrome. nailz-z-gull yours is better as looks proper and not an afterthought.
mine should have it, i would pay for the slats to glue in but not price for whole grill

I think they're the same - it's just the way the light is reflecting on the pictures.

The grill certainly has a contour where the chrome strip sits, so it's not just sitting on the edge of a plain grill. So I expect you would need to replace the whole grill to get the same effect.

yep your right
dont know what i saw the first time i looked
wouldnt find replaceing just the grill (the slats) but dealer says the 'whole' grill needs changing top and bottom inc the big chrome surround
and it aint cheap

Could it be a model thing? You see this on BMWs with the more basic models having black slats and the chrome on the top models.

My 07 2.0 FSI Sport has them, they look great and they were fitted as standard.
