A question to all users who have dual zone climatic air con installed.

Being in the somewhat cooler climes of Scotland I was wondering whether other people have the problem with climatic a/c switching on the fans before the engine even gets warm.
In my last car with climate control it waited till at least the engine was warm before swiching on the fan.

Is this a general feature of the system or is mine not set correctly?

Looks like a design "feature" then (a pain in the ar*e, unless heated seats!)

Climatronic/Climate Control

Hmmmm - haven't got this in my Eos but have it in my Audi and I would have assumed that VAG would have a standard set up that they shared? In the Audi version it certainly stays peaceful until the engine warms up [assuming heating is needed] - one thing I did notice though is that at the 'transitional' temperatures where there isn't much difference between the temperature it is set at and the ambient temperature is that the fan not only came on but actually came on at full tilt. I took this back to Audi originally and they recalibrated the system for me, removing the problem. I know its not the same car, but its from the same 'family' so personally I'd take it [them] back to the dealer and seek their opinion - Climatronic should adjust the fan speed according to how much heating/cooling is necessary, and this therefore sounds like a correctable issue to me

Be interested to hear from more people or how this progresses

Hi Paul,

When I say the fan comes on, I don't mean that it comes on full speed. I have 2 other cars, both with climate control, 1 VAG group and the other is a Peugeot. Both of these have a similar set up and I can confirm that the EOS fan just seems to be spinning a bit faster that the others before the engine is warm.

IMHO I think the Peugeot is the best of the bunch regarding the Climate Control, although thats about all it is good at!

Climatronic

Same with mine and with the Golf I had before the Eos, looks like VW don't include an engine temp sensor in the climatronic system.
