oh my god today we were so lucky !!! hubby is renovating the bathroom and popped out to get something in the eos he came back and parked the car on the drive , i went to make him a coffee and when coming out of kitchen i saw the eos in the middle of the road , i thought ' where is he going now' then realized no-one was in the car , it had rolled off the driveway, luckily no-one was walking past at time and no cars going up or down the street most of all the woman who lives opposite who normally parks her car right opposite our driveway had parked a bit further down so it missed her car by about 3 feet, we have no idea what happened he must of not put hand brake on properly , from now on i will always leave car in gear . what a close shave !!!!

Reminds be of an incident SWMBO had a few years ago. We lived in a hillside house that had a very steep drive (only a 4WD could get up when it was wet). She came home from the gym one morning and parked the LR Discovery on the driveway. About an hour later we came down stairs to find the disco missing, not to be seen anywhere. We decided to walk down the street and happen to look up a side street next to our house. There it was parked on the footpath. It had gone down the driveway in a loop and up the side street. She had left the steering a little off straight. How lucky, as directly across the road the rooms of the house facing the road where bedrooms. They could of had a disco throught the wall.
After that she always made certain that the disco was in gear and hand brake was on.

Yup, always put a car in gear (or in park) when stopped on a slope (Rule 252 Highway Code).
