One week ago made the decision to convert, well actually to convert my wife, from her 2000 Mustang GT convertable to an 07 Eos (white 2.0T sport package, dyna audio, automatic). After researching and driving the Eos I was won over. Seems my wife is a bit slower to change as I recently found out. I am very impressed with the Eos and she thinks it's "a nice car" and is "getting used to it". I guess it will take a little time to win her over. She wants to transition into the Eos and not sell the Mustang too quickly. Ouch, that I did not plan on.

As a result of her not just loving the Eos right out of the box, I may get a bit of buyers remorse once in a while. Sure is nice to come to this forum and read your posts to reassure me that I made the right decision.

We have the same situation up here in Cottage City. I was perfectly happy in my Mazda 3 - but my SO hated it. Japanese engineering wasn't up to his BMW standards, it was too small, it was uncomfortable, etc. What he was unable to grasp was that it fit me - I felt comfortable in it and it was a lot of fun to drive. And, as a hatch, it had cargo space. He started to look at Eosi and before I knew what hit me, the MZ was gone and "my" car, that he wanted, was an Eos. Just like you did to your wife. The Eos is a nice car. It's got lots of bells and whistles, it rides nice, it gets stares. I'm thinking about using it to pick up men (Say fella, wanna see me drop my top?). And I'm getting used to it. But it's going to take a while before I'm friends with it. And it's never going to be a MZ3 (or a Mustang). So, you already pushed her once. Quit while you're not too far behind. If she is going to come around, she'll do it on her own. Also, you might want to get a hobby - it will help keep you from meddling in your wife's affairs.

I should add that she was a consenting adult in this "affair". She test drove it, it fit and she liked it. The Mustang is there for her, but I notice that she is driving the Eos and getting "used to it". I have learned to be patient. As for a hobby, you mean something like writing on a VW Eos forum?

Just make sure she doesn't get to comfy with the Eos (its easy to do) else it will be the Mustang for you.

Best of luck with your conversion.
PS writing to the forum is a good hobby, but not as good as EDAs

cheers

If you really want an EOS that badly, "you gotta do what you gotta do". I owned a brand new Passat 4 Motion when the EOS came out, and I just had to have one immediately. So ............ I gave the Passat to my SO and used her older car as the trade. Even at that she balked, until I promised to
- have the Passat completely detailed
- pay for the next three servicings
- give her equal garage rights
It was a hard bargaiin, but I got my EOS! (and a big laugh from my VW dealer who sat through the negotiations)

Sealy, so do you like your Eos now or do I detect that you are bitter about it?
I am hoping that my wife will in fact end of really liking the Eos, since it was her that really wanted a retractble hardtop, not me.

The Eos is a very nice car with many positive attributes. Had I not been so happy with the MZ3, I'd be thrilled. Part of it is that it is such a different vehicle from what I normally would drive, part of it is personal - I really don't like how this deal came about or the restrictions my SO is calling for. I'll calm down eventually - that's what he's counting on.

You sound like that could take a looong time! Hope it all works out.
Cheers and good luck!
