Had to have a flat changed so it was the first time the little plugs over the wheel bolts have been removed. Surprisingly, the heads on all the wheel bolts were corroding - rusty whitish powder and pitted. The shop said it was probably from the boat trip to North America - salty air/ water? I find that hard to believe, but something got in there and caused it ... anyone else seen this ? Pull out a bolt cover plug (use the little tool in the tool kit) and check. Makes me wonder what other little corrosion spots may be hiding unseen.

I had exactly the same on my sept 07 car.

I bought it as an ex demonstrator, the dealer changed the plugs before I collected it.

I have now spayed them with silicon oil, dont know what causes it, but i would sat its not the boat.

The crap some dealers come out with!
All cars are shipped in the hold of the ship, which is like a massive multi-storey car park. NO cars are shipped on deck and if there is any sea-water damage then the ship must be unseaworthy and the authorities would want to know about it and why!!
