After the meet yesterday ..I got to thinking about where we could go with a EOS meet.
I mean we are a pretty mixed group of people …but most car meets involve wheel spinning booming stereos and ridiculous paint jobs..

I didn’t get the impression that we would be burning the rubber in Tesco car park very soon ! so I have a suggestion. I have been developing all day.

I know that people like the meet bit …and the driving in the country bit .. so .

I wondered if anybody would be interested in doing a curiosity Rally ?

This is the format

You would meet at a car park ..in the morning on a main road where nobody can miss us ! from this point you have to turn your sat nav off and discard all maps ..
You will then be driven in convoy to a mystery starting place be given a print of a OS Map of the local area some Information about the area History etc. and a set of easy clues to hard clues
Then using only the map and the information you have to find and photograph with you or the Eos in the picture with the curiosity. There will be higher points if you get the car in the picture etc,
There will be a Lunch time meeting at half time kicking of tyres and time check.. and scores so far..eat etc..
A few more hours in the afternoon on the rally
I expect that out of say maximum of 10 Curiosities you be good to get 6!
Bonus points will be added for Eos spotting collecting pub names and other silly things ..
And then how did you do session in a pub at tea time.

A very silly scoring method will insure fun will be had by all. Everybody gets to drive around waving at each other and get to meet kick tyres and eat.

I would be happy to organise one to kick off if people enjoy it someone else can do the next one..

I know we have just been to Derbyshire … but for me it would be the perfect location ..as I could easily arrange the above .. you get a lot of interesting stuff in a small location and plenty of great pubs to start and finish in. and its in the middle of the country ..

I think to make this work we really need 8 or more Cars ..

What do people think ?

extra point ...its not a Race ! collect points in the time given ..its about the clues and navigation ...the roads will be small and the distance traveling between points small ...giving maxium chance of bumping into more EOS..!

but not in a crash way i hope ...

Definately up for that Mark. Do you get extra points for not having an argument in the car whilst checking for clues ? Or for actually still talking to each other at the end of the days map reading etc?
We could each put a prize in (bottle of wine or something) for the winner/s

How about a cruise to the east coast? (Lincolnshire that is....) Done a few with the seven, generally meet up somewhere like lincoln then go for a ride across to one of the seaside towns (other than skegness!) on the coast for fish and chips and a chinwag.

I quite liked the first idea but Derbyshire is too bloomin' far away! I'd rather do it in Kent, lots of big fields, country lanes, churches, pubs etc.... would anyone wonder this far down?
