The dealer rang this evening to tell me I won't be getting my Eos on Saturday as DVLA havn't done the cherished transfer :( It will probably be ready for mid next week. I know it is only a couple of days, but I am getting very cold feet. I still LOVE my GTi and get a flutter every time I see one or drive it. I'm worried I've done the wrong thing as the EOS seems MUCH bigger. I've even considered pulling out of the deal... the deposit doesn't matter.

Sigh!

Hi Karen,
Sorry to hear about your delay - but it'll be well worth the wait.

As for the Eos being bigger - I had a MKIV Golf GTI before and was happy with the size and was a little wary of having my first booted car after 8 or so years of driving but a couple of days in the Eos and I was happy with the size.

Visibility is a bit better out the side windows I find without a pillar there - and the parking sensors help too :)

Roof down it's a whole different ball game - loads of visibility.

The rear window looks small but got used to that too - though I did remove the dealer sticker :)

All the best,
Si

hi Karen
dvla are now a pain, i had to wait three weeks for my transfer which in the past i've done over the counter on the day
i think you will be very happy with your purchase, i have just traded in a new merc for an eos and have no regrets
drove loads of cars before making the decision inc a gti which i found too firm and was not impressed
i think the eos is a far better buy, more unique, more fun, better looking, just as fast, smoother and thats even before you realise its a convertable!
dont worry!

Karen,
Glad to see Pacemaker's reply. If you scan all the comments of all the people after they have picked up their EOS, you will see a common theme ........ they are all euphoric! regardless of what they were driving before ... and you will be too! Your dealer could probably resell your car in a flash, and double dip your deposit ... don't give him the satisfaction!

Best car I've owned, again!

Karen - don't change your mind. I loved my Audi and had to whisper 'goodbye' to her with a tear in my eye - but the Eos is a dream

1000 miles passed and now am starting to throw her around a bit I'm finding she handles [especially roof down, wind in your hair] brilliantly.

You won't regret it!!!

Thanks all!!

I went into the garage yesterday p.m with some paperwork for our new Touareg and there she was in the parking bays :) It was pouring down with rain and I was a bit sad that she was getting wet, but the boys had valeted her that a.m as they thought I was picking her up. She looked fab!!

So feeling much better now :D Definately getting it Tuesday.

If anyone is interested, the garage has a V6 on a 56 plate there... silver with red leather for £29999! Just came in this week.

The Eos is better. I have the best of both worlds, so can compare back to back.

Just taken delivery of a GTI for me and an EOS for my wife. Both have the same 2.0T engine and DSG.

I love the GTI, but the EOS is sooooo much better. It is a chunk bigger, but not so much that you notice the difference when driving. Visibility is good and it is great with the top down.

Not sure you've made the best decision going for a 3.2, but you'll like it anyway. Spend the extra money for the wind deflector - it almost completely eliminates any buffeting, even at silly speeds.

The DSG gearbox is the best money I've spent in a long while - we won't be going back to a manual anytime soon, for any cars we buy.

Enjoy!!
