Hi all,

My Mum has the above plate on her '05 Peugeot 206...and wants me to sell it for her.

I thought the best place to start was this forum...obviously the plate would be very popular with EOS owners!!

I reckon it's worth loads to the right owner.

£900 + transfer costs...and the plate is yours.

Please PM me if you're interested.

IMHO, personal registration plates are unbelievably pretentious and I'm glad they're not available in France. Having said that, I did smile a few years ago when I saw a Lamborghini Diablo with 'PEN 1S' driving through London. I like self-deprecation ;)

Anyway, good luck with the sale :)

P.S. ever here the (true) story of a guy in the UK who paid £190K for an Aston Martin and then another £190K for 'A5 TON'?!!

I don't think PEN 1S was ever issued, for obvious reasons. The DVLA carefully monitor any registrations which might be deemed offensive. It was probably PEN 15, which dates from the days when people didn't make up words out of numbers and escaped; it was sold (on a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud) some years ago for quite a few thousand £s!

For anyone who might be interested PEN 15 was advertised For Sale yesterday in the Sunday Times - for £99,995!!!

For very rich nutters only...!

What is everyone's opinion on personalised plates then? I fancy getting something non-specific to the Eos as otherwise the plate will have to go with the car (not that I'm even considering getting rid yet!).

I love them. I've been interested in car numbers since I was a little lad (sad, I know!) and have my own.

Having said that I hate the stupid prices that are paid for them today, which are dictated by people who are not interested per se but must have one for vanity reasons. The good ones are now out of reach of ordinary mortals (I rejected A1 NEH earlier this year as seller wouldn't take my £750, wanting £1995 then reducing to £1500).
