Anyone know if you can get the dealer to fit auto lights on. I used to have it on my previous car but rushed to but mt eos without the lux pack and now miss it.

Even better if its possible just to buy the switch and fit yourself?

Asked dealer and they said no as the compauter would need to be reprogrammed.

Sounds a bit lame to me but as no one esle seesm to have a diffrent answer I guess I'll just have to live without.

I tried to get heated screen washers retro-fitted but it was impossible as they said it would need to be re-programmed. They quoted me about 4 or 5 hundred pounds - can't remember exactly how much now but for something which only costs a few quid factory-fitted it was impossible even to consider. Not like the old days when you just fitted anything in your garage yourself and connected it up to a spare in the fuse box...

Hi
The switch itself is a straight swap, but there is also a light sensor needed which is situated in the centre of the dash, the associated wiring for the sensor, and yes the computer will need reprogramming.

It's so easy just to switch the lights on when it gets dark. How much money is it worth spending to avoid that massive effort?

Don't know about others with auto lights but they come on long before I would normally run on dipped beams. I would use side lights. So I'm not sure that its all that great an option. If it was on its own and not part of a package, I certainly would not buy it.

Stick with the switch!

Although I do as you do there is a school of thought that says if you need any lights on at all you need headlights on - i.e. don't drive on 'parking' (side) lights!

So the auto lights on gets round that by going straight to headlamps.

Personally I prefer to do my own thinking thanks!
