I LOVE my car - anyone who reads these threads will know that. And today I made another discovery - I can get a full (very expensive) supermarket shop for a week for three (and the men in my life eat a LOT) in the boot AND have the top down. Now even food-shopping will be a pleasure! :D

I parked it in the furthest corner of the car park so that there was a danger of melted ice cream by the time I got back to the car. It's also a good ploy to shop REALLY early in the morning! Now I have a free afternoon and the sun is shining so I am going out - where? Who cares!

Had you used the rest of the boot for your shopping, you would have still enjoyed having the sun roof opened which no other Coupé-Cabriolet can offer. ;)

And if you split the shopping into lots of bags (rather than squashing it all in a few!) I've found that you can get it all out through the tiny little opening with the roof still down! Just make sure you put any larger items such as bottles of Coke etc and cereal boxes near the opening!

Slightly off thread! I too usually park in the furthest reaches of the car park to avoid dents etc, but at our local supermarket the car park slopes in this direction and is often a collecting area for trolleys!! With our 18mth old in the car I sometimes use the child places where the car doors open fully. On the down side these places are near the entrance and a trolley park. Didnt realise there'd be so many variables to consider when trying to keep the car pristine.

And finally, related to the incredible size of the boot. I, along with fiancee and 18mth old went to Centre Parcs recently for a weeks holiday. The boot swallowed....2 full sized suitcases (own, not VWs), a weeks worth of breakfast food and baby food, various baby essentials (2 large bags of toys, nappies, bath seat etc), a laptop, large (very) make-up bag, 3 coats that didn't fit in the suitcases and a pushchair! With an OCD problem I hated the thought of the car being full of 'stuff' for a 2hr journey. The only things in the end that needed to be in the car (apart from the 3 of us!) where the changing bag and a small rucksac used for keeping foods cold. My parents struggled to fit all the 2 of what they needed into a good sized family hatchback and had things all over the back seat and in the footwells! The only downside being that admittidly I couldn't lower the roof - but as said, the Eos does at least have a sunroof!

Happy driving all, and enjoy the unique abilities of this special car we've got!:D

I too can't stand having the back of the car cluttered. All that's on my back seat is a blue elephant (well, I sometimes need someone to talk to on lonely journeys).
