You aren't alone. Myself, along with several others on this forum had cars buils within the last few weeks and are still waiting.

Last I heard was yesterday and the status was still showing as 'awaiting ship'

Ship to pickup

there was just over two weeks between my dealer telling me shipping dates and the car being available. It surprised the dealer - he said they can't find out exactly when a car would arrive on their doorstep - mine was quite quiick!

It's worth the wait though - everybody at work wants to take a look, and a couple have placed orders as company cars - they're having to wait though.

Enjoy - and try and keep the smil off your face as you drive round with the roff down :)

Hey, my car was built on the 9th June and has been awaiting shipping ever since. This is mainly because it firstly ships from Portugal to Germany, then from Germany to England.

Mine at last hearing is in Germany although (Fingers crossed) may have been shipped now but it was in Germany for two weeks.

So basically, after build, it still takes over a month for the Eos to reach UK soil.

As I understand it they are built in Portugal then get shipped to Germany for full Pre Delivery inspection, then on to you. Apparently this is also the case for cars built elsewhere like Mexico, not just for the Eos

I ordered my EOS in Feb 07, and was told delivery would be 30 June 07. Then 31 July, then 24 August, now mid-Sep. The dealer has told me that there is 6-8 week 'manufacturing' delay for Australian orders. Time will tell.....

Cheers

Hang in there Jonesy. I just bought an Eos yesterday after a little bit of an unexpected delay, and it was worth the wait. Granted, I didn't have anything compared to your wait, but I'll be thinking "hurry up" thoughts for you! :)

Try to console yourself with the fact that when it arrives it will be one of the coolest sets of wheels in Australia. By the sound of things also a rare beast.

Ordered mine on March 3rd and told that delivery would be September.
Built a couple of weeks ago and am expecting it early October (I am "guessing" 3 months from build to delivery for Australia).
I wouldn't have expected a Feb order from Brisbane would be too different from that, given that the EOS was officially released on March 1st, and VW's ordering restrictions I have read elsewhere on this forum and others.

Picked my new Eos up yesterday, managed to drive around last night with the top down but today it's p***ing down !!!

Still great fun though. My wife tells my I've not stopped grinning yet !!:) :)

Mine also got the downlights and the MFD without the warning lights above it, think that means its 08 model, anyone out there know ?

Taking it down country at the week-end so will be able to tell you more then.

Have had DSG on a Passat before and it really is a good toy on the windy roads.

No, yours is a 2007 spec, mine is the same except the MFD. The reason you have a different MFD is because you have a DSG Gearbox. Manuals have the warning lights above the MFD, DSG's don't so that they can show the gear selection box at the bottom.

My dealer is looking into it, I said that others on the forum seemed to know firm dates for differect stages if the manufacture and deliver process and that I wanted to know the same. Mine is awaiting ship but they dont know if thats in Portugal or Germany?

I think the lady who I deal with might be a bit green, I knew more about the car than she did, and I now seem to know more about manufacture/deliver process aswell!

She's lovely though and I dont mind bearing with her as we all have to learn but sometimes a bit fraustrating. After all I am spending just under 30k so if I want to know this stuff, I expect them to find out.

Must admit though, the sales manager (who finally sealed the deal) was a bit of a toss! Dont get me wrong, I really want this Eos but I did have to remind him that its VW he's selling, not some high end presteige badge!! His attitude was a bit "dont even bother asking for a discount". They were trying to give me a silly price for my part ex aswell. I mean fair enough, if you're paying list price, then its reasonable to expect book for your part ex! Anyway I told him i was quite prepered to go back to Vauxhall and get a twintop (with every extra on the list) for alot less money if he would prefer!

Needless to say the attitude was adjusted accordingly, and I gave him a cheque. I think with these sales people they like to try and get an upper hand in the negotiations etc. It part of what makes them tick.
