never noticed this on my previous EOS but by bumpers and boot are a different colour to the rest of the car.
i have noticed this on other cars such as my works vauxhall but put it down to a cheaper product.
i know its never been resprayed and must therefore be a product of the fact these parts are plastic and not metal.
its only noticable when the sun shines directly on the car and is clearly visable in the first pic below.
is this a one off or do others see the same?
i dont want to have a respray and wonder of its a laquer problem as the paint looks perfect otherwise

first pic is in the sun second the shade
ps how do i make pics show on screen and not thumbnails?

Can't really see any difference, TBH. To display the photo direct, use the image icon above the message box, rather than the Manage attachments feature (though you have to host your pictures elsewhere to do this). Some nasty swirl marks on your lovely black paint, there - who's been handwashing his car, then? Naughty, naughty ;)

I will have a proper look at mine 2morrow and get back to you.

Have a look at this about how to post full size images.

How to put a picture on a topic.

There are two ways of doing it and find that this way is the easier way and less complicated.

Open up www.photobucket.com

Register with the site, it costs nothing. This is the best one to use, as it saves all the pictures, where as image shack does not.

Next to the “Picture” icon, click BROWSE. Once you’ve found it, select it and wording will appear in the box.

Then click on the “Submit” icon. Wait a few seconds, until the page loads up.

Scroll down and your picture should be there. Underneath your picture are threes boxes. Headings URL, TAG and IMG.

Highlight all thatÂ’s in the IMG box, it will look something like

To highlight it, click on the text with the left button and it will highlight in blue. Then right click the mouse and select copy.

Once youÂ’ve copied it, log onto the EOS forum.

Either start a new topic or post a reply, depending where you want the picture. In the text box, just right click the mouse and select past. The wording copied will then be on the text box.

Then Click on Submit and bobs your uncle, you got a picture.

You can post as many pictures in a subject as you like.

Any problems please PM me and I will try and assist further.

Pacemaker 1000, I had a poor colour match on my Silver Essence where the bumpers had a distinctive blue shade compared to the body, I've noticed similar mismatches on other EOS' too.
Mine was corrected under warranty, it's still not perfect but much more in line so to speak. Can yours be done under warranty? Whatever you choose to do, don't let anybody try to blend it in by spraying bumper and body together, you'll see it from miles away! Have all the correction work done on the bumpers only. Good luck.

Color Match

Aloha Pacemaker1000,

I have a Candy White 2008 Komfort EOS, and I thought I was the only one who noticed. My Eos has slightly different color bumper caps also. I just chalked it up to it is plastic versus metal. Double take though, The boot lid is perfect match, and yet it is plastic also. Maybe the parts are sprayed in different parts of the assembly plant?
Watch out, they also chip very easily from road debri.

I'm just going to live with it. In my experiences, repaints never are as good, or last as long as the factory paint job.

Mahalo,
Lopaka

The issue isnt that it is a plastic part or a metal part, the issues is whether or not it was on the car at the time of painting.

Metallic and Pearl paint finishes are created by having mica flecks in the paint. These will lie in a particular direction depending on the direction of spraying in the paint shop. Generally things like bumpers are outsourced to specialist manufacturers, who even if their paint matching is perfect, are likely to have paint spray heads which lay the paint differently to the paint heads in the paint shop in the car factory.

Some Pearl and Metal colors are worse that others, and solid colors will generally be the best. (one of the reasons I went for Paprika red)

interesting, thank you for that
you appear to be corrrect as both bumpers, boot and even petrol cap are different
close up they look identical colour/fleck just catch the light differently
not sure if i'll bother doing anything about it as the local dealer is a waste of space
