Last week I was annoyed to discover that the indicator in the drivers door mirror was cracked.
I ordered a replacement indicator lens to fit to the mirror and I managed to fit it last night (an acheivement for someone who has the mechanical sense of a wasp) so as I stood back to admire my work I thought I'd check to see if they still looked the same on both sides, as the NS lens was now going to be 2 years older than the replacement.
It wasn't, it was much duller, but when I looked close up I noticed that the lens on that side was also broken - although this time it looked like stone damage. I can't believe I hadn't noticed it before so I imagine it was quite recent.
Have I just been unlucky, or are these lenses a bit prone to damage? I never park on the road and always head for the opposite corner in car parks, so maybe it's just road debris that causes the damage?.
