Hi all,

Does anyone suffer from the electric windows not dropping all the way when the roof is lowered? They stick up usually about 5mm on each side and it's really annoying as i keep having to press the button on the door to lower them that last little bit.

Or is this going to have to be a dealer fix? I am a bit frustrated as the dealer said they'd book my car in to have the seals treated (after i mentioned the fact i'd got no sealant pack of Krytox as mentioned in an article on the What Car website) and a replacement plastic screen over the dials as i think they scratched it putting the Parrot bluetooth in and i've heard nothing from them since.

Cheers,

Mark

My windows stick up about 5mm too, but they don't go down any further when using the door buttons. It doesn't actually bother me enough to do anything about it.

I may mention it when taking it in for service next month though.

My windows do the same thing. I think that is the way the car is made. If you tap on the all window down button, then drop all the way down in door. I I'm sitll having issues with the drivers door window only sometimes not completely going up that additional little bit when the door is closed. It supose to go up a bit to seal, but the car just seams to forget about it.

I'm thinking there is some kind of software issue. I'm just going to live with it till the car goes in for service.

i too have noticed this and find it annoying as it was NOT an issue with my 06 eos, so i would argue not a design fault but something introduced on later models

Mine go all the way down, every time.
So I would have thought that's what they're meant to do and if they don't then something is wrong..

First of all, it doesn't bother me a bit. If I want the windows all the way down, I just tap the "all" window button again. Quite frequently, I actually want the windows back up immediately as it's a much quieter ride with them up with the top down (especially on the freeway).

My guess is that this is a software setting to prevent the windows from going against the "down" stop. Perhaps the quick down tap doesn't torque them as much. Anyway, that's my take.

Just back from a ride and the "express" window down feature does the same thing (window sticks up a small amount). Another tap on the button and the window disappears.

Thanks guys, but it's going in anyway (that's if VW ever return my calls!) as my Parrot bluetooth display has fallen of due to a rubbish sticky pad (perhaps the same as they used on my front number plate that almost fell off) and i've realised the connection is now loose so it keeps playing an ear grating noise through the stereo. And i've also got water coming in through the top of the a-pillar and also at the base of where the drivers and passengers windows meet.
