Carrying on from the post in the New User Introductions section, I'm taking the bull by the horns and putting forward dates for a 'meet'.

I thought the suggestion of Chatsworth was a good one so we'll go with that and I've added a poll for dates, which I'll leave open until may bank holiday weekend.

Don't forget to vote for all the dates you can do.

It's a little too far away for me. I'd be interested if something was organised a little further south.

4 hours each way is a little hard to justify with the fuel prices as they are.

Trouble is skooby doo I think quite a few people are away on holiday at present, we only just came back. Have spoken with the other EOS owner in our village and they are ok at present for the 1st or 22nd June dates but I now find that 22nd would be best for us not the 1st. If the weather stays like this it will be a great day out.

June 22nd it is then!

Sorry to Steph, but it would appear that the 22nd June is the favourite date. Hopefully now we've confirmed the date there will be more takers. If not there will still be a decent gathering.

I'll post more details nearer the time - not too sure of the layout of the carpark to suggest exact location so anyone with more knowledge please let me know.

I would say 11:00 to 11:30 to meet giving everyone time to get there without too early a start. Or how about meeting at 12 and everyone taking a picnic lunch - it'll be June and I'm ever the optimist about the weather! Then if people want to enjoy the surroundings at Chatsworth there's still plenty of time.

Anyone wanting to PM me for any further info more than welcome.

Great stuff Sue. A noon picnic sounds great. Gives us time to get down from York as my OH works late on saturdays.

date in diary - looking forward to it. Can't remember if you can get in from both sides of the park but there is 1 car park at the house itself for guided tours of the house and 1 large car park at the south end of the park and you can't miss it. Its on a hill, opposite and looking directly at Chatsworth House. We will try and get there 11/11.30 and give the dog a walk first and look out for you all. Picnic sounds great and if it does rain there is always the garden centre restaurant! Took the following off of the Chatsworth House web site (there is also a map on there)
"There is a charged car park at the southern end of the park, open all year round, and charged parking near the house during our visitor season.
Chatsworth is 8 miles north of Matlock off the B6012. It is 16 miles from the M1 Junction 29, signposted via Chesterfield (follow brown signs), 42 miles from the M6 Junction 19 and 30 mins from Chesterfield rail station."
Hope the weather stays fine - See you all there then !

Only 5 Weeks To Go!

Thought I'd post to the thread to keep it current then anyone who doesn't already know about the meet on 22 June @ Chatsworth can find out ;)

Hope the weather is like it is here in Yorkshire today - lovely and sunny (a bit more heat would be nice too!)

Looking forward to putting faces to names.
