Eos 1.6 engine performance

Hello everyone

I am thinking of becoming a VW Eos quite soon but unfortunatelly, the only version I can afford is the 1.6 one. I am kind of reluctant for the engine performance as 115 hp must move almost 1.5 tons. Is there any 1.6 owner out there that can give me his opinion on this?

Hi Amigo,

As convertibles are more about cruising and looking cool, out right performance isn't the be all. Yes it is nice but if you are looking for a great looking, fun as well as reliable car then I would say stick with the Eos 1.6. You could look at other makes such as the Ford Focus CC but the Eos is just streets ahead.

I would suggest that if your budget could stretch to upgraded wheels and maybe the sports suspension, this would really help the looks of the car.

Hello Don

To be honest, I am not after the looks at all. I think that the Eos is a beautyful car the way it is right out of the factory. I am only worried about the 1.6 engine performance i.e. when I will need to overtake an other car, or when I will have my heavy luggage in the trunk and need to go up the hill with the A/C turned on.

This is why I focus only on the 1.6 engine performance and would like to hear from someone that owns that model.

My sister has a Touran with the 1.6 FSI engine in it. The touran is quite big and doesn't seem particulately under powered, so you should test drive one (1.6 FSI EOS) and see what you think...

I might think it is OK, but you might think it is under powered... It is very subjective.

I went for the 2.0T cos I wanted an Auto!

translation: take it my friend its simply geil! i have it in black for 5 months and i still enjoy to drive it! it doesnt put fire on th wheels but it doesnt seem to have problems with the horsepower. driving: perfect!
