Okay, I'm new here, and I'm know every one of you will probably disagree with eachother on colors, although you're still welcome to post your personal preferences.

I do have one main question though. If you were going for Eismeer Blue (my favorite so far), what in your opinion looks better for the Interior....Black or Beige? I'm torn because they both look nice. The black has a nice contrast to it, but the beige has a nicer contrast only if you're sitting inside the vehicle...the features stand out more, like the top dash and radio are black, and it separates them from everything else. If it's all black, it looks kind of like you're in some black box and nothing stands out. But the black looks fantastic from outside of the car.

Somebody told me they think the Eismeer Blue is more of a "chicks" car, and goes more for girls, but that only came from one mouth so far. I'm a guy, and I think it looks "tropical"....I love the ocean. Is it too "girlish" in your opinion, or does it suit a guy quite fairly? Which would girls be impressed with?

Among a few other questions....

Just how much better is the DynAudio really worth it? and what are the watts on the standard audio system? I personally could not hear the difference in sound between the 2 when I went to the VW dealership. One of my friends said he could hear the difference, but that's because he was a professional sound manager at his school and he had a real good ear for it.

My final question would be....if you're not going for leather seating, what material are your seats? And is it a good durable and sturdy material? I'm a Vegan vegetarian...would non-leather upholstery suit me better?? lol. :p

I welcome your feedback, thanks!

Tornado red would be the color for me with black leather and lots of chrome inside and out side would have that every year.

i have to say that i think Eismeer Blue is not for a man and is by far the worse colour available for the car
also, all black inside although serviceable looks drab in any car and with the roof down gets very hot
personally i have bought 2 eos's and gone for black both times firstly with red and now cornsilk interior
its not available over here but i think white and beige looks great!

Hey, I got Eismeer Blue and the only people that say it's a "chick" color are Eos owners who failed to get it (read jealous). While I didn't see a model with a black interior, even if I had, I would not have gotten it. I traded in a '95 Mustang with black leather and it was probably the only thing I didn't like about the car. Shows dirt and dust almost immediately after cleaning. The only other color that strikes my fancy is the "dark grey".

So for my money, go with the beige. Looks fabulous. Brightens up the car and seems cooler with the top down.

I have the Lux model and I'm getting around 31-32 MPG on the highway and around 27-28 MPG in town.

It's just a fun car to drive and my only concern is putting too many miles on it as I want it to last a long time.

Thanks for the affirmation Eos_Up....

I too think Eismeer Blue can be just as much a man's color. I also enjoy the thought that the color seems to impress most girls over all the rest of the colors. I'm a single guy, and well, I thought I'd do a test....out of about 10 girls I sent pictures with that showed all the colors, most of them said they liked the Eismeer Blue as it stood out as the most distinguished. I'm still open to hear further comments though.

Anyone else willing to tackle some of the other questions I raised in my original post?

Ok Ly. Hope your chair is comfy and you have a cold one handy. First the colors. I have the Eismeer with the beige interior. It makes for great color contrasting but you have to be ready to work on keeping that light interior clean. I have had mine for 20 months and have never had anyone tell me they thought the color was feminine and we have some tough critics here. Had you bought an 07, Gray was available as an interior color. I have the leather and I'm reasonably happy with it. It will make you sweat more when it's hot out and make your butt and back cold in the winter unless you got the heated seats. The other material is something called V-Tex and breathes better, but I don't think you can get seat heating with it. They should be fairly comfortable for trips. I have the Sport seats and they are a little harder but ok on long trips.
As for the audio I got the DynAudio option with the 6CD/Mp3 radio, no nav. The DynAudio is one of those options that goes with personal taste. I like being able to crank it hard and hear it with little or no distortion as I zoom down the the road with the top down. I figured I was paying 35k for the car and another 1K wasn't an issue and it removed the what if factor.
What engine and trans have you decided on. If you want a v6 get it now as it goes away for 09. THe DSG is pretty good, but if you like control get it with a stick. Remember the stick is not available with the Lux model. the wheels and tires are anoth option. Base is 16" but if you move upline 17 and 18 inchers are available. So its up to how much you want to spend and need.

I personally dislike leather upholstery (and I know I must be the only Eos owner in the world to think that!!!) so I have the "Titanium High Spirit cloth" which is the UK spec cloth upholstery. It is a kind of dappled grey/black, very comfortable, very serviceable, very easy to maintain clean, and, I would argue, looks perfectly OK in an Eos.
The only trouble with cloth is you can't get heated seats (but that's not an issue for me as I really dislike heated seats, as well!!!)

The Eos I test-drove was Eismeer Blue (or Leonie Blue as it's called in the UK..) with black leather interior.

I thought the blue was great (don't go with this 'chicks colour' business, unless it's pink!) but I didn't think the black went very well with it. I saw the same exterior with beige interior at a car show and thought they went much much better together.

Thanks for the comments guys. You are all very helpful! :)

I find no need to go for a V6 engine. 4-cylinder is just fine for me.

As far as the DVD Navigation Screen is concerned....tell me, how does that work? Is that like a GPS locater? Does it tell you where you are and where you need to turn, etc? Or is that simply like "mapquest", where it will show you the beginning and end, and that's it?

It's too bad the Lux doesn't come with a stick-shift option. If the Komfort has both options and you can switch back and forth between Manual and Automatic, why can't the Lux? >.< I love the chrome front on the VR6...I wonder if you can add that later to the Lux, but overall I think the VR6 is not worth the extra cost....according to one video review on YouTube.

Most factory installed audio/nav units will show you how to get to where you want to go with turn by turn directions once you program in your destination. Aftermarket units do the same. They all use a GPS (I think). They all require updating from time to time to keep their mapping info up to date. And these updates are not free.
I think the names they are choosing are kind of poor. Lux sounds like luxury and should have an automatic trans. Komfort sounds too much like a luxury model but isn't They would have been better off calling it a 2.0T. In the US packaging is the big concept. You sometimes have to take items you don't want to get those you do.
As for your chrome grille check with oemplus. They may have it as an accessory. If not there's the dealer (Very expensive) or Ebay.

I have Eismeer blue with beige also. It's a great color combination. The blue is almost exactly the same blue as the new Prius blue here in America. it's not really a feminine or masculine color. It's darker than a powder blue which some consider feminine, but certainly lighter than navy, which is considered masculine.

Lysimachus,

Go for the Eismer blue. I get so many compliments on the color from all walks of life.

I seem to be the only one with the black interior. I really wanted moonrock grey, but it was discontinued in the 08 version.

I especially like the black with the top down. You've probably seen photos on this site of cars with the beige, so here is a link to vortex with photos of my car with the black interior: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2809641&page=6

The only thing I don't prefer about the black is the walnut accents. I still am trying to figure out how to change them to something lighter. I think that will offset the black dashboard nicely. The walnut is so dark, it blends in a bit much for my taste.

By the way, you may be confused about the transmission option on the Lux, or I am confused reading your post.

The Komfort can be purchased with either the manual or DSG 'automatic' transmission. The Lux comes with only the DSG transmission (US spec).

The DSG transmission can be manually operated if you wish, or you just put it in drive and let it do it's thing.

I have the Eismeer Blue with Moonrock interior. I am not concerned what others think of the color. If I want to check my gender, I stand in front of a mirror and drop my pants, works every time.

the best color combo

IMHO Eismeer blue with the beige interior is the best color combo for this car. :)

I've seen a blue one with moonrock interior and I thought the moonrock looks really good. For some reason it is not and never has been available in the UK! VW UK must think it's a bit too subtle for us morons over here!
