Thanks for the advert links. I have yet to see one on terrestial TV this year here in Scotland.

I was thinking that as well, last time I saw one was last spring / summer. Perhaps they sell too well to bother advertising LOL.

Great commericals...

I'm not a big watcher of commercial TV and most of the time when I do watch a show, its on DVR with fast forwarding over the ads.

Having said that, I've NEVER seen a EOS commercial on US television. I'm wondering if the available inventory is less than the demand and hence, no commercials similar to the marketing of the Prius.

Before anyone says anything, I'm NOT comparing the Prius to the Eos even though to be honest, my wife loves her '06 Prius maybe even ALMOST as much as I love my Eos! :D

Aloha All,

I too have seen no advertisements for the EOS. Have only seen 2 others on the road in Honolulu. I was starting to question if they are going to drop making this model, maybe it is not profitable enough in the US, or people think it is too expensive.
I love the car and hope that VW realizes there would be a hugh demand if people knew about them.

There has been one Eos commercial in the US that had a couple driving down a road fighting over the climate control setting to demonstrate the Climatronic system. Also the Eos can be seen in the background of the last Jetta commercial and Cisco had one in a commercial. There was a series of billboards about a year ago. There was a local dealer here who sells VW and a couple other brands that were in a combined ad with no prices on the Eos and the picture had euro style plates. VW dealers as a whole don't advertise much in the newspapers. VW may not subsidize the dealers for advertising or may be just the way VW operates. Advertising the Eos here may not be a great idea. I say that because VW allots about 15,000 for the US and sells most of them without media ads. VW only produces about 50,000 a year worldwide. So advertising a car that would be in short supply would only alienate potential buyers and potentially cause dealer added markups. There are also rumors that the Eos will become a Passat model to make room for a new Golf Cabriolet. Pictures have appeared on this forum previously of this Golf model.

Advertising in France: Already 2 campaigns

Hi
Advertising for the EOS in France in in its second big campaign at the moment. Both the first (spring/ummer 07) and this one (spring 08) come with a TV commercial spot and with a print ad featured in main magazines (news/people/women/lifestyle weeklies or monthlies).
Rather extensive advertising, I think mainly because of the strong competition of, established presence of, and national preference for the Megane CC and 307CC...

Funny enough, VW has not done anything on the Internet, where most other brands go for viral, gaming, flashy web sites, quizzes and prize draws...

As long as they don't generate zillions of EOS drivers, so I can still "feel the difference"!

Good thought process. Hope that will keep resale high! Hope we can also get parts if something breaks. I love the grin I get everytime I drive it! Guess we are a little selfish!

Don't want too many people owing them do we! If they do go out of production then at least we will all own a 'classic' in the future
