Now you know why the UK is called Tresure Island -- The silly thing is that we all pay up and look big.

Try doing the same exercise for Oz, NZ, South Afrcia, and Ireland.

Another question is who pays the most for their car ??

I bought a Eos Lux in the US last November. As you probably know, in the US, the cars are almost fully equipped and there are only a few options (like Nav.) The list price was about $35,0000 or in BP, about 17,550.

I realize that your prices get jacked up by VAT, but at 10% that would only be another 1,750 pounds. Sounds like there may be some extra business taxes, but even so, your dealers must be doing very well indeed!

Would be delighted if vat in the UK was 10%.
Unfortunately, it's 17.5%.
EOS 2.0l petrol about £23,500 - VAT is £ 3,500 ....This is just wasted money (certainly isn't "Value Added" tax, which is what VAT stands for).

Compared to Australia and Singapore, we do however, get off lightly.
