Hi Guy :)

I would be grateful for some specialist knowledge I know is contained within this forum. I am considering purchasing a VW EOS: TSI 2.0L, DSG. Although this combination is less available than the Diesel and therefore difficult to find I’m considering maybe a clean well looked after High Mileage approx 120,000k. I wish to ask for some feedback with a few questions below.

1. 2009 EOS 2.0L DSG PETROL with 120k on clock would it be best to have the DSG Box Reconditioned first or the Engine – I probably could do both at the same time from the right Garage/workshop but just wishing to know which is more of a priority.

2. Has anyone got knowledge or experience of a Good Quality company I could use for this undertaking within 200 miles of London considered.

3. Is it worth considering the later 2009 (CCZ Engines with Timing Chain Tensioner issues) bearing in mind I am looking to have the engine reconditioned so would run me good for 60k.

Thanking you in anticipation and responses most appreciated (y)

Most important is to check the service history. High mileage shouldn't be an issue assuming that the maintenance on the engine and gearbox have been done at the specified intervals, and the timing chain issue has been dealt with. If everything is as it should be, you shouldn't need to recondition the gearbox or engine.

Thank you very much for your feedback and seems sound advice and even reassuring. The present owner has kept vehicle well maintained and carried out the following work below, although I will check how recently:

New Time belt & water pump + sensor & tensioner

I also understand that it is well worth with these cars (any car) especially to kept on top of a high level of maintenance and preventative measures.

Thank you again Diagnostics 101 and most appreciated (y) :)
