Welcome to the forum cshrem, you must be a courageous person to drive your precious EOS in New York! Bit like trying to drive in London nowadays.

I wouldn't worry about driving an Eos in NYC. However, I would be VERY worried about parking one there (at least on the streets). Back in the 80's I had a BMW 320 that was busted into 3 times. After the 3rd time, I sold the car and never kept another car there that was worth anything. If you don't have OFF street parking, forget about it.

During the day I park in a lot by my home but basically I tinted the windows because i also had a BMW and someone broke the window and took my ipod and gps outta the glove

Its safe to keep it on the streets depending on the neighborhood.

Also gas prices are crazy high (not compared to the UK where its worse) so traveling around the city is not sually done by car, walking and our beautiful subway system :)

Id love to be able to take my eos out on a long stretch of road and see what this baby has.

If the leaves are changing in that part of the world maybe a drive north on 95 or west on 90 might be good.

Is it that bad in NYC? I have not visit US yet and wun know the situation but it sounds bad.

Here in Singapore, we have our fair share of vandalism or break-in but its on a low rate. I dunno about the rest but I've owned 10 cars over 8 years and only 2 got vandalised. The 1st case was a mistaken identity, got my windscreen smashed and bonnet pierced :D :D :D

I'm on my way to New York on Feb 25, would love to Eos spot whilst doing the touristy thing! Everyone in NYC with an Eos should have a meet while I'm over there and I could come along and join in with you!! lol :) :p

Eventually I hope to visit every US state. So far I've managed about 20 pct of them.
You have to admit though NYC is exciting. Not so sure about Little Rock..?!

Gotta admit I used the word "underwhelmed" several times when describing NYC to friends and family! I think people hyped about it too much to me and I was expecting greater things! it's just like a dirtier version of London and as I work in London every day it bored me a little I have to say!! (Sorry!)

Unfortunately during my visit I didn't see even one Eos, I was very disappointed but at least it confirms that all you NYC Eos drivers do have exclusivity! :p

I told you while in NY you should have come down to Virginia. I agree NYC isn't my favorite place either. We had some very nice weather last week but now are getting pounded with 6" of snow in a surprise late winter storm here. The Eos is staying in the garage and my 4wd Tacoma is coming out!

Good morning all! Sorry for the late reply, life has been a little hectic. I have an '08 Eos, have it for 2 years now and I live in NYC. I love the car, and love NYC. I park it everywhere any anywhere. The NYC of the 80's is just that, long gone. There's nothing better than driving to work top down, enjoying the NYC city sky line. This winter has been brutal and yes, there have been snowy days where my Eos has been left behind because of snow and ice. It will all be worth it when the first hint of spring is in the air.

I'm in Nassau LI and i was wondering if anyone knew of any Eos meets or just car meets that might have an Eos in it. I was given the car as a gift from my uncle, im not a big fan of the car, but the convertible is nice. I need ideas of what i can do to the car, it has potential but i just don't know what to do. All of my friends have sick cars (M3, Saleen, Shelby) I NEED TO MAKE MINE BETTER.

YES.. u are!

I'm an Eos owner in the UK but will be visiting Manhattan at the beginning of June... Does that make me an Eos owner in New York? :)

U DEFINATLY ARE!

NYC is def fun... if you know the spots to go too.. stay away from major touristy areas.. i find it fun.. just need the right person and right place to make it happen.

I drive my Eos in NYC all the time, an it's no big deal......Most people think it's crazy there, but in reality, it's no where near as scary or as bad as everyone thinks it'll be......NYC's reputation is a little over exaggerated :)

As far as seeing Eos' around....I'm seeing them more and more everyday! There are a few new ones in my town now, and I see them on the LIE and NSP quite often.....I just ordered a bunch of cool things to make mine stand out a bit :) Nothing too crazy, but a few "nice little touches." :) Wayne

I hate to highjack the thread here, but here's what I did and plan on doing....

I tinted the windows, and added a spoiler to the back which looks great. I also ordered (and it's all arrived....just need to install now): Mudflaps all around (to keep the tar off the paint), headlight strips (to give it that LED Audi headlight look), Stainless Steel gas, brake Pedals and foot Rest, Blue LED lights for under the dash, reverse camera (although I'm returning it since I'm going to do a full stereo and alarm in 3-4 weeks depending on scheduling), tinting for the rear headlights (to black them out), LED reverse lights (to get through the tint). Oh yeah, I also got a SmartTop Module :)

Lastly I ordered (to be installed like I said in 3-4 weeks) a Viper Alarm - 5902 w/motion sensors (to protect it when the top's down) and auto-start (like yours :), and a Pioneer AVIC-120bt Stereo (w/ipod, sirius, rear camera, and all the trimmings)....I can't wait to get it all in.

Now back to the thread ;)

EOS in NYC

Hi,
I recently bought a 2010 silver Eos and I live in Brooklyn. People stop and stare at the car when they see me raise or lower the top. I love the car!
So much power. I have the 6th speed manual shift.
Andy;)
