Eos on offer

ok guys......you are all going to hate me. I have cancelled my eos. Mine was delayed by another which was runied in transit. Basically water damage on the boat ruined the interior and the order (as far as i was informed) was ruined. I have decided that, at 24, I am not willing to spend that much money money on a car that is quite probably going to have 'issues'.

anyway....because i have cancelled my order there is an eos going spare at VW aberdeen. it is pearl black with red nappa, 6 disk front loader, winter & lux packs, 18" chicago's. Call & ask for Scott (say Lynne sent you!) if your interested! Should be in showroom by end of week / early next week. you can avoid all delays gettin it that way!

getting a golf instead and saving a fair bit of pocket money too! let me know if anyone buys my eos and post pics of it....pretty please! will still miss it even though i havent actually seen it! :(

Oh Lynne thats awful for you! Iv been watching most days to see if you got your car and now your not getting it at all! They say lifes a bitch dont they! Before you finally give up your dream is it worth maybe looking around all the uk dealers to see if thier is an ex demo for sale that would have any teething problems already sorted?
Regards Trish
Lynne
Fit like ma loon? Sorry to hear that, after all your looking forward to it too. We were all with you, we did the same, and I'm sure we all equally enjoyed your descriptions of your anticipation!
I know what disappointment is like ('nother story!), but I have to say I'm having a great time with my car. I stick the top down whenever I can and get my beak in the air.
I leave my kids up the road in the morn and when it's sunny I go wheeeeee all the way hame.

Hi Lynne,

I'm also sorry to hear about you leaving this exclusive club its been good to read your posts and wait with you whilst VW get their act together.

What model Golf are you getting, the GTi? Perhaps you could post a pic before you go.

Loads of luck
Disappointment

:( Hi Lynne
So sorry to hear your news, did the dealer explain just how the water got into the car on route? the cars usually come with a white plastic cover on them to protect them between the factory and the dealer.
I hope you contacted Volkswagen Customer Care for an explanation on just how this happened.
Any way I am sure that will enjoy your new Golf and may be the next time you change your car it will be for a water tight EOS.
Regards
Bill T
Do you really think you will have fewer issues with a Golf?

Ours is faultless (water on the door sill excepted - dangerous words) and apart from the roof the EOS shares a lot of components/systems with the Golf.

If you want something trouble free get a Honda!

Oh Lynne - that must have been a big decision as you were SOOOO looking forward to this!!! What was it that made you snap??? And are you saying that YOUR Eos was damaged and quite likely to have issues as a result of damage on the boat, or that yours was diverted to make up for the car that was ruined, which means you would have to wait even longer???

I hope you enjoy your Golf and don't regret your 'eoscapade' too much!

Best wishes

Oh Dear Lynne. Terrible news.

I am a Shipbroker and am involved with ships every day. Must say water damage to the interior of a car whilst on a boat sounds more than highly unlikely. There is more to it somewhere. If an Eos could be damaged that way so could a Golf..

The only time I've ever heard of water damaging a car on a boat was when the boat actually sank and that has not happened to a car-carrier since the one that nearly capsized off the west coast of the USA last year carrying Hyundais.

Hi Lynne, sorry to hear you have cancelled your Eos, you seemed to be so looking forward to getting it, on another note at least you have stayed with the VW marque.

Paul
Issues with Golf's. My mark 5 - 1.6FSI sport broke down 5 times from new. I had 14months. Volkswagen couldnt find the fault hence buying Eos at a cheaper price. Every car can have its faults especially from new.

hi guys....thanks for all of your comments!

i still feel sad that I'm not getting the eos but all in all, I do think that i am happier in my decision now that i have had a few more days to think about it!

basically, i don't think it was mine that was damaged in transit (although this was never explained to me) i think it was someone elses. They then got the next available car which pushed back orders....again. really not sure what was happening with mine. nobody could let me know when mine would be ready and nobody was letting me know what was going on. dealer didn't even inform me there had been any trouble - i heard through someone i know that works there. i decided (having had seriously bad car trouble before!) that this was a bad omen and cancelled my order.

about the water trouble on the boat.....i also didn't think it would be possible but that is the story i was given.......! who know what the actual truth is...

i know that there can be issues with any car but decided that when i had heard so much about the water issues, i didn't want to get into it! i decided on a golf as i have had polo's in the past and my brother has a golf. my bro's golf is lovely and the big thing..........i can fit my golf clubs in it (which was NEVER going to happen in the eos!) :D

i have been car-less since Jan (borrowing my mums!) so was also getting impatient! was going to order the gttdi 140bhp from new but i have actually found a pre reg gttdi 170 dpf so have gone for that. picking it up on tuesday so excited about that! really couldn't face another 8 weeks wait!

sure......I'll post a pic before i leave you (then you can all see how fantastic your eosses look in comparison :D )

hope you all love your cars though and i might pop into the site every so offen to see how you are getting on!

happy trouble free driving to one and all and it has been lovely talking to you!!! :D :D

Can't help thinking you're making a mistake Lynne. You were so excited. Golf GTi is a great car, no doubt, but an Eos is something else.

Quite a few thousand Eoses have been sold and have heard nothing about wetness and rejections apart from 4 or 5 on this site.

If I'd been in your position I would have taken the car offered and seen how I got on with it. If I wasn't happy then it could always be sold for more than list price (according to the guides!) or at least at a very small loss.

And by the way - golf clubs will fit in an Eos! Bit of a struggle with the roof down though..

Hi Lynne,

Just remember to pop in once in a while and remember to post a pic or two of you new Golf. Lots of luck and best wishes,
Good luck! best thing i ever did trading in my golf! - was a complete lemon from the start and clocked no fewer than 15 faults in its first year, inc a couple of serious ones, I had a courtesy car for over 2 months in a 12 month period!

Still, when there were no problems it was a great car
I agree with you completely Neh.

I have had no probs whatsoever with my Eos, and of the thousands upon thousands sold, a handful with problems is nothing to worry about!!

Having driven the Golf on a number of occasions (partner owns one!) it is a good car, one of the best hatch's around.

But the Eos...............well it's a different kettle of fish in an oh so good way lol! Definately worth the extra cash.

Never mind tho Lynne, if you need a car now you need one now, maybe get the Eos next time!
