Nothing too serious just pondering...

Mine is a 2.0 FSI Sport (non turbo), will it still have a double barrel exhaust or a single or will it be hidden like the diesel?

Is the climate really worth £400 over the standard aircon? What exacly does "semi climatic" mean? To my knowlege climate is where there is an auto setting and air-con just blasts out cold air for ever till you turn it off. So what is the standard air-con like I suppose is what i'm asking?

Does the roof operation work whilst in motion say at 20mph or under like some other marques?

Ive gone for the Dynaudio option and was just wondering wot and where the extra 2x speakers are (10 instead of 8) please tell me theres a couple of base bins somewhere?

Thanks for your help guys and girls.

Can't help with the climate system you have. As for the roof you pretty much have to stop. If you go to www.dynaudio.com they talk in detail about the speakers. Briefly there is a woofer, midrange, and tweeter in each door and a tweeter and woofer on each end of the rear seat.

I had Climate Control on my last car [Audi A4] but have gone with plain old Air Con on my Eos. Personal opinion [supported by my wife] is that you can save yourself £400 - Air Con works just fine - you adjust the temp on the dial and it blows THAT temperature at whatever fan speed you've selected, until you change it. The CC we had always seemed to be unpredictable and our perception was that it created draughts [mainly towards Mrs Smoggy!!] where there shouldn't have been any.

Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! See other threads on this forum!"!!! NEVER move the roof unless stationary unless you want to cause a lot of damage. Its a complex piece of engineering, treat it gently!!!

As posted, have a look at the Dynaudio site for details. It certainly isn't a 'boom box', so if you're into subs etc you'll need to do something else. The Dynaudio is a hi-fi standard system - lots of power and good response at all frequencies, but aimed at accurate reproduction and sound quality rather than shaking the car. I have it and am very happy with it - it even sounds better when the roof is down, I don't know how!!!

Agree with Smoggypaul the Climate Control is not worth the extra - I've had cars with automatic climate control before and still found myself fiddling with it all the time as it never quite keeps the temperature where you want it. If you're going to do it yourself anyway you might as well save the money. The Auto one does look nicer however and you do get dual-zone so your passenger can sweat whilst you shiver (in theory!).

The roof will only work when you are at a complete standstill, which suits just fine; it only takes 25 secs anyway and is always fun!

Oh - and you will get the visible twin-exhausts. It's only the diesels with hidden outlets.

Semi-climatic means it's not fully auto. On the fully automatic Climate Control you just set the temperature and it will vary the fan-speed and temperature of air coming out to keep that temperature. As mentioned above however it's always slow to react and you find yourself fiddling with it.

With semi-auto you have to set the fan-speed but you can still dial in the temperature and it does keep roughly to it, so once the set temperature has been reached the temperature of the air it's blowing at you will rise (in summer) or fall (in winter). In theory anyway!

Just come back from dealer...

In the end I went for the turbo just to get the DSG which was really the main feature I was after, after that upgrade, £400 for the Climate was peanuts so I slapped that in there also so the missus can go warm when I want cool.

Still stuck with westwoods though, chicago's a bit to "gangsta" for me. Each to there own though.

12 weeks...... NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Thats gonna hurt!!

Haven't got the DSG, so I can't comment, but I think you've done the right thing by getting the turbo. It's a cracking engine and always is chosen as the one to get in the magazine reviews (this side of the pond anyway!!:D )

You'll love it..."gangsta" Dave:eek:

Agree. In fact didn't one mag vote it the world's best 2-litre engine? It really is a great engine.

Yours looks superb I must say. Ive gone the same way except with beige leather and westwoods. They are a nice wheel dont get me wrong, but (and this is just a personal opinion, not trying to pick a fight) when I looked at the demonstrator with Chicago's on, they look as if they're too big for the car and they stick out flush with the wheel arch. It kinda looks like a scaled town convertible Taureg to me. I also remember reading somewhere that wnen Chicagos are selected then they dont lower the car by 15mm in the sport pack as they do for 17" wheels, is this correct?

Anyway Ilike it when the wheels are a bit further in the car say an inch or so inside the wheel arch so the top of the tyre just disapears a bit. Has anyone achieve this on hear with an after market kit??

As far as I undestand it doesnt matter what diameter wheel you have the tyres change profile so the overall diameter stays the same so your lowered suspension is still lowered even with 18" wheels. Some folks say that the lower profile tyre on the 18" wheel means a bumpier ride buts its all personal preference.

Larger wheels do typically give a firmer "bumpier" ride. Typically, the overall tire diameter stays the same, the center wheel diameter is what grows to 17 or 18". Thus, the tire sidewall gets shorter and stiffer than say a 16". Also, there is less air inside the tire to help absorb bumps in the road. On the other hand, it looks great and improves road handling due to the tire flexing less on turns.
