Think you will find that this is for the U.S. market only Miss Eos. They have to have the side indicators I believe.

Skidoo is absolutely right. All US (and Canadian?) market cars have had to have side marker lights front and rear since the 1970s.

They are not available anywhere else.

Yes, us people in the US have had these since 1968, actually. It was a US Department of Transportation mandated safety item. The Canadians also get these but I am not sure whether it is due to their laws or because they make all car for North America that way. Schoolhousefred could tell us if he's out there.

I'm surprised the euro models don't have side markers. I know there's no law requiring them but more light does make a car more visible. Why not just have them for safety sake? There's no requirement for DRLs here in the states (there is in Canada) yet VW (Toyota and GM) have adopted that philosophy here. Along the same line of thought. The center mount brake light was introduced here in the states in the mid 80’s. I thought that was a US thing but I do not recall seeing any late model vehicle around the world without them. Perhaps DRL’s and the center brake light have studies that prove they prevent accidents but no proof for side markers?

Hi Solarflare
well we have the indicators inserted in the mirrors, so at driver's height, which makes them VERY visible! It's like the third (top central) brake light that was made mandatory only recently in Europe, being higher than tyre level, it is much more visible!
