I have just placed an order for a manual transmission Eos Sport TDI which I expect to receive in April 2007. Is there anyone on the site who currently owns this model? If so I would love to hear what your experience has been and whether you think that the TDI was a good choice.

Also, I opted for Midnight Blue with Cornsilk Beige leather upholstery but only on the basis of samples, there being no model available to view or test drive other than a manual Sport 2.0T FSI in black with red upholstery. Has anyone seen my chosen combination "in the flesh"? If so what did you think of my choice?

Think there are a few on the VW/Audi Forum Website who have the TDi. Have seen a dark blue Eos on the road although not sure if it was Midnight Blue or Shadow Blue (my second choice although I wanted the Red Nappa leather so couldn't have it) and it looked very classy.

Eos TDI

Hi Rob,

I was getting a TDI on 23rd December but now it's going to be tomorrow! (18th) - what you have ordered was exactly my choice but because of my impatience haha (well, also wanted to change my current car quicker) - I got one close to what I wanted..got a Sport 2.0 TDI in Shadow Blue with Cloth interior...havent seen the one you want in the flesh but the Cornsilk Beige looks great if you have seen the VW brochure (the Eos next to the waterfall pic)..

I'm no Jeremy Clarkson when it comes to cars so I'll be limited about what to tell you about mine... i.e. how it handles etc - but I will let you know what I think of it of course :)

Hi Rob,

I pick up my Eos TDI tomorrow (19th Dec - can't wait!) and will happily share my thoughts on it with you.

Overall tho, I think diesel is the sensible option with an expensive car.

I have already driven it and can tell you it isn't slow by any manner of means. It's nippy as hell!! It pulls away with surges of power that you just don't get with petrol engines.

And..............it's economical too!

And..............it won't depreciate as much.

Thats why I bought mine anyway.

Regards the colour choices, I really struggled when choosing. My initial choice was for midnight blue with red leather, however, after configuring it on the site, I wasn't sure so opted for leonie blue with black leather, mainly because thats what the dealer had there, I could see it and I liked it. Have since seen a midnight blue one tho and it was classy. Not sure what interior it had tho.

Will keep you updated.

Leonie Blue

Darren,

Interested to hear you chose Leonie blue as this is the colour I have chosen for my TFSi which is due for delivery on 1st March. I am having to wait, but it is hard going! I chose the colour 'blind' and have yet to see one in the flesh - pictures, I'm sure do not do the colour justice.
Good luck with your Eos.

You can't get red leather with midnight blue otherwise I would have done! Great colour but I really wanted the red leather so ended up with silver. It looks great and I haven't seen another one in UK in silver; also it doesn't show the dirt much. Have seen both midnight blue and leonie blue ones and they do look good!

I have a silver Eos and one of the guys at work has one too. They look fab and we think it has a slight hint of blue in the sun. We also have Chicargo alloys. Hope to get picture nose to nose soon.

Hi Paj45, just found this site, certainly more movement than the other owners site - be interesting to see which one wins out. Have posted latest dealer drama on Eos Owners Club and will be interested in diesel comments should I hand back the 200bhp T FSI. Could become a convert to the Sport 2.0 TDI !

Mr B, am I stalking you or vice versa. If you don't mind waiting, my TDi will be fore sale in early Nov 07. I might try the BMW version then, especially if there is more room for the kids in the back. You should have seen there faces when I dropped the roof whilst playing ABBA and it was only 4 degrees outside.

Would agree with you about the slight hint of blue; parked next to a silver Golf you can see it's a completely different silver.

Think I would go for Eoses as the plural!

I have the EOS 2.0 TDI sport. I have found mine to be alittle dodgy at times with Traction. This is in comparison to the Mark 5 golf I had before this.
Seems to happen when you are wanting to get out quickly.

Anyone else have this prob?

Hi Lynne,

Not sure about the delivery times in Aberdeen, but I ordered my Eos in Glasgow in early October and collected it on the 19th December.

Not sure who the VW dealer is in Aberdeen anymore, but I approached Arnold Clark here in Glasgow and they advised me they couldn't deliver for months.

Verve, the other dealership who I ordered with delivered in no time.

Regarding traction problems, I haven't had any problem whatsoever with my Eos so far........having said that, I've only done 1000 miles in it.

Ive done 2,700 miles in mine, had it since September. Do 12 miles aday when backwards and forwards to work. But when trying to get off our business park at the end of the day is terrible. You put your foot down and its like someone has slammed on brakes when you are actually pulling away. Ive read on top gear site about the same prob.

Quote Top Gear site road test:

About the only wild side to this car is the lack of front traction, because the leading wheels easily spin when you accelerate. Doubtless the lower-powered versions wouldn't suffer from this brief bout of tyre-smoking hilarity.

Whooo! Tell me more about the key fob. I have a Black sport TDi with Red Nappa coming. Hoped they did a remote roof but didn't see it as an option. ( I do have the Thunderbirds theme on CD for the initial roof opening ceremony though!) and I got a cool 007 (AO 07) plate with it too!
