Hi, I have recently changed my eos battery, and now the traction light won't turn off. It says in the manual that this is normal and that it should go off after a short drive, which I have done. After 30 miles it is still on, and pressing the esp button will not take it off ..... any other suggestions ??

ESP (trac control) light stays on

I know you posted this a year ago, but for posterity...

My 2008 has this issue as well, and I can feel it in the handling. My mechanic identified a couple of bad sensors in the traction control system (front driver's side and the yaw sensor), and indicated that the latter depended on the former for proper functioning, so we swapped out the driver's side sensor and hoped for the best. The traction control (ESP) light has gone from solidly-on to intermittent, so I'll let you know how she improves when we get around to replacing the yaw sensor as well.

tl;dr: Check with a good mechanic who has the VW scanner codes.
