Hi all

I have had my eos for over 2 years and love it however i have a fault that annoys the hell out of me and the warranty is due to expire shortly and ideally i would like to get this resolved under warranty if possible rather than keep experiencing it have to pay for it at a later date !

Basically the issue is that when i put my roof up my rear drivers side quaetrlight window is down when i return to the car. Now i am not sure if this happens after i leave the car or does not go up and i do not notice it. Either way i keep returning to the car and the window is down which obviously lets rain in if it is raining or worse still vulnerable to thieves to steal it.

My dealer says they have never heard of this and cannot recreate the fault however it keeps happening !

Can anyone help who has had a similar problem

Also my friend mentioned that on his ford forum someone provided him with a list of known faults with his car which was published by Ford and he got his car sorted. Does anyone on this forum have such a thing re the above or other faults that VW will resolve if you report them ?

Heres in hope that some expert out there can help as i love my EOS but this is getting me down

cheers

I have this same problem!!! It happens when you put the roof up and then you keep hold of the button the windows come up but the rear quarter window comes up and then goes back down (i've seen it do it) so I just make sure that all the windows are up before I get out of the car!

Sorry I couldn't help you any further!

This has happened to me before.

The dealer thought it might be some dirt or something that had either gotten into the seals around the window frame of maybe inside. This causes a bit more resistance when the window closes and the system thinks there's something in the way and thus drops the window back down.

Make sure the seals are clean. If they are, the dealer may need to strip that window panel out to check it's clean and greased inside.

Hope this helps!

Hi Steph, I have exactly the same problem as you. Have you had any joy in getting this sorted? I thought lubricating the seal at the top of the frame would help, but did'nt. Annoyingly the dealer thinks I imagine things ! as they replaced the window motor twice!

I've not bothered taking it back to VW it's a waste of time they also think I'm imagining things too ( we could be twins) So I just check before I get out the car problem solved better than talking to the morons at VW!

I have had this one on mine, and it was when I hadn't cleaned/lubed the seals for too long! They were hard and dry. This meant that as the window came up, it got stuck near the top and the safety system brought it down again (as it would if there was a finger in there)

I've checked my seals and they are fine still quite flexible it was only about 1-2 months since I did it last.

Yes, I had exactly this problem, also the roof would not always go up or down (rare), or, when it did close, the sunroof would stay open (also quite rare). However, the driver's rear window coming down again was almost the hole time - and this when the car was only a few months old.

Two trips back to the garage, the fould could not be replicated, then I left it (I was going to be away) for a couple of weeks, and they found the fault - they changed the MPU, whatever that is, I assume the central computer - then (touch wood) it was fixed, no further problems.

If VW think this is a fault that they nave never seen before, perhaps they should sign up to this forum and talk to all the other people in this thread who have also suffered this "unique" and "unknown" occurrence!

However, it CAN be fixed - my garage (in West Sussex, UK), did an excellent job but they did need a few days to track the fault down.

Good luck!
