After a year of test drives and a 3 month wait, my Eos was finally delivered today. Cars also considered and driven were
1) Audi A4 cab; less space, older chassis, ubiquitous, small boot
2) Saab 9-3 convertible; poor interior quality, smaller boot, ubiquitous
3) Volvo C70; no sunroof, more expensive, better looking, poor fuel
4) Alfa GT; fantastic looks and drive, no convertible (top choice otherwise)
5) Honda Civic, Type R, fab car, poor fuel economy, everyone wanted a race!
6) Seat Leon FR; very fast, very firm, noisy, rattles
7) Volvo C30; different, great ride, poor economy, no boot at all
8) Mazda MX-5 - petrol and only two seats, otherwise fine car
9) BMW 120d coupe; great engine, fine drive, poor looks, same money - it's a BMW
10) Astra CC; poor refinement, dark inside, expensive

In the end it came down to A4 or Eos, similar price on our car scheme for TDI Sport model with leather and a few options. Time will tell, but that sunroof and larger boot were the real selling points. Mine is silver with red interior and westwood alloys - the colour choice for the Alfa GT. My next car will probably be a spider :) But I will have the Eos for 4years (about 120K miles)

Drove home roof down, very pleasant. Well interesting weather for Day 2 - torrential, will look for those leaks. Kids were not impressed this AM, roof up and water in the car from the door opening!

Pleasant 60miles down the M40, great ride. Took a long time to get comfortable. I live in OX13 and commute to UB6, so if you see a silver EOS TDI with red seats on the M40, wave.

Thinking I will get it chipped when it's run in....

After being lucky to get my name on a vehicle to the required spec having just arrived in to the UK and getting an 8 day lead time found out this afternoon that tomorrow is no longer the day! Delay on the transporter meaning a delay of up to a week. To be fair to the dealer, as my current car insurance runs out tomorrow lunchtime they're giving me a Golf GT Sport for nothing until it's available.

Sounds like it would have been rubbish weather this weekend anyway!

Does that include non-Eos though? Mine has an optional dog crate in the boot and booster seat :) Haven't felt the need for the Wind-deflector yet.
