Well, I’m finally happy with my Eos. I turned it over to BMW and took home a nice 328xi Touring (wagon) – Montego Blue, terra/black interior, and poplar wood accents. I have room for my dogs, an iPod interface that actually lets me pick songs and tells me what’s playing, unlock buttons that unlock, a phone button that – get this – accesses the phone (with all the names and numbers on the display screen). I-drive takes some getting used to, but it stays where you put it – no more banging on the volume buttons before realizing it’s switched out of audio mode. I can talk to it, too. And it usually does what it’s told. I had to give up the folding top – but got a panoramic sun roof and a cargo area. I also gave up “drivers wanted” (desperately wanted) for the “ultimate driving machine” – it really is a great drive.

I’m glad you all are mostly happy with your Eoses, but for me it was just a bad match from the get-go. Life is just too short to not admit mistakes and move on. I wish everyone the best of luck.

Funny, I sold my fully loaded e90 330d for the Eos :) iDrive is a pain and, although you will get used to it quickly, it's cumbersome and the satnav is no match for the all-conquering and considerably cheaper TomTom. I miss rear-wheel-drive, though, and of course the 390 lb/ft of torque I used to get from my specially tuned 6-cylinder BMW diesel. Anyhow, enjoy the BMW!
