Poor Gary came home from work soooooo..... p'd off last night! Coming into our village they are laying new tarmac so he made a point of really slowing down - what happens some bloody idiot coming towards him leaving the village decides its ok to speed up ! He said the chipping from the other car wheel hit his windscreen like a bullet and he had to watch the crack creep right across the front ! New windscreen being fitted on Saturday afternoon but as he says it just wont be the original anymore. Commiserations for him required please.

that happened with my van i had a new windscreen 3 days before my step dad took it out and got a chip grr!!

i do have a scratch on the windscreen of my eos though gutted

Oh no thats pants! Hope the replacement has better luck! My baby got a small dent in it last week off our wheelie bin! It blew over and hit the car, needless to say i was not amused!

Gary, I know how you feel mate!
Had the same thing happen to the windscreen on my Landcruiser.
You slow down for a hazard, so you don't cause damage to other cars, and some idiot coming in the opposite direction damages yours.

Sorry about your windshield. First it's only a piece of glass and second no one was hurt. I don't know how your laws are there but if you have the other guys plate number and can prove he was driving recklessly causing the rocks to fly up you can make him pay for the damage. We can do that here. If not your insurance should cover it or if you don't want the insurance to pay or don't want it on your record, you can pay for it. But I would bet it is really expensive.

Cracked a windscreen (windshield as us US folks call them) last summer due to a rock hit = worked through the VW dealer in Sterling VA to get it replaced, cost about $500. Dealer made sure his sub-contractor that replaced it knows and follows VW procedures and it is good as new.

Thanks everybody, new windscreen just been fitted, have to wait 2 hours for glue to set now, but looks as good as new so far. Will check out roof up and down tomorrow.

Oh dear! Poor you!

Weird yesterday I was cruising and there was road works with warning signs of loose chippings and 20mph. I wanted to make sure I didn't get my car chipped so was sticking the limit (heaven help me if anything happened to my Eos baby) anyway as I was tootling along some jerk decided overtake! Yip he did. Stones everywhere. The minute I could I pulled over and gave the car a once over and thankfully everything was ok but I was furious - typical it was a BM driver!

I was so cross and thankfully my car was just fine so I can imagine how cross you must be. Hope you get it sorted on Sat.

Hey I've had my windscreen replaced twice, the first time was from a chip and the second time because the guy who fitted the replacement had never done an EOS before and when I drove the 50 miles home from work the screen whistled like a kettle...... touch wood all is well with this one.

Ah well I wasn't the first then !
The guy who did mine had previously done one other and said it was a bugger as they are such a tight fit, so he knew what he was doing thank God and mine went in ok and so far so good.
