Well..... someone has to be the first to post in the Australian Forum.
We picked up our Eos 2 months ago, Wheat Beige with cornsilk beige leather and Satnav. I have already installed a set of H&R springs which lower it about 35mm, and as I am putting new rims on my new MKV R32 I will put the 18" R32 rims on the Eos.

In the next few months we also plan to install a full ABT kit.:D

Hi there, I picked mine up Friday 13th April, which for me is just the way things work. I was born on a Friday the 13th so generally good things happen. Absolutely adore this car. Havn't we been blessed with gorgeous topless weather lately??? Loving it!

By the way, although I asked for the region to be set up, really not sure how "regionals" are used as I check out all new threads?

Maybe we can start counting EOS sightings around metro since we're new to our city?

I've seen 2 - a wheat beige with cornsilk in Gladesville (I wonder????) the same week we picked up ours and a black pearl in Chatswood last week.

ENJOY

Gidday. After ordering my Eos in Feb 07, I was orginally told that I should receive it (to my door) on 30 June 07. I was informed yesterday that the delivery date has been pushed back to 30 July 07.

The reason was "due to unexpected worldwide demand for the car". I was also informed that this delay will affect ALL Australian orders. I'd be intestered in knowing if anyone else has been informed of this, or what other experiences with on-time delivery have other people had.

Cheers

Have now done about 2700 kms since mid April and loving it. Weather was nice today after the wet we have had in Sydney over the long weekend. Drove to Wollongong via the coastal road and had fun with the DSG :) Averaged 8.2l/100kms on this drive. Usual city driving has been around 12-14l/100....
Have seen about 5-6 Eos on the road...blue in CBD, silver at Alexandria, black in Mascot, red in CBD, black at Chatswood.

My car was built to order and the order was placed on the 22/12/06.

Build Date 22/03/07.

Booked for Shipping 12/04/07.

Shipping Date 26/04/07.

Discharged Sydney 10/06/07.

Delivery........... Still waiting for a call from the Dealer.

If you have a VIN Number you can track the vehicle on this website on the Cargo Tracking Page and selecting Auto Cargo.

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/searchCargo.do?trackType=Auto

I would suggest that for you to get the car next month it would have to have been built in April.

Just an update on delivery. I was informed today that the delivery date of July 30 will now slip to August 24. The reason given was:

"I have just spoken with <name_removed>, he has advised me that all Volkswagen Eos orders in Australia have been delayed 6 to 8 weeks as there are manufacturing delays. "

Hmm, delay number 2, total of 2 months.

Hi there,
I was just reading your post, interesting....

I have one on order - but insisted on an 08 build - supposedly delivered Apr 08.

I noticed you had spec's the 18" Samarkand wheels.. the Sydney dealer I used mentioned if I wanted these I would basically have to dispose of the factory std 17" Le Mans they ship with.
He said that if I wanted to upgrade the alloys to the Akiros, all up it was approx $4800.
That included around $600 per tyre+fitting & balancing, then around $550 per alloy.
Is this circa what you looked at doing to upgrade your alloys?

Id be really interested in your experiences with this.

Cheers!

Hey Davey

If you order the 18" Chicago or Samarkand Wheels the car is shipped with these from the factory. You do not get the 17" at all and the cost is $1990 as an option on the car and you get Sport Suspension fitted as well.

I believe the Akiros 17" Wheel is listed as an accessory so you may have to buy the rims separately but as they are a 17" wheels the tires that come on the Le Mans Wheel are exactly the same so you can change them over.

Some times the price of a wheel is bases on giving the original wheels to the dealer and sometimes on you taking ownership of the wheels and you can sell them yourself.

But somehow the story you are getting from the dealer does not add up. I would go back to him to clarify what he has told you because that is certainly not my understanding of the situation.

BTW $600 for a 17" tire is a little over the top :D

Thanks SydEos!

Thanks for that SydEos...,

It sure is an expensive option as Ive been led to believe from the dealer.
I'm sure the dealer said $550 per Akiros alloy x 4= $2200
Then he said $600 fitting & balancing x 4 = $2400
Total = $4600.

I did query the dealer - but on your advice, it seems somethings not quite right.

I really liked the look of the 18" Chicago's - but thought they were the "brilliant silver", and wasn't too keen on that.

Can I ask what made you choose the Samarkand's - and was the $1900 your extra amount you paid to have these 18" Samarkands factory fitted? Is that right?
Sorry to bug you about this - want to get it right & avoid disappointment.

Thanks so much for your advice though - really appreciate it!

Davey:)

Hey Davey

Sorry first error on my part the 18" Chicago or Samarkand Alloys are $2490 as an option fitted at the factory. This includes an upgrade to Sports Suspension and the applicable 235/40 R 18 tires.

As for the Samarkand choice when I ordered the car last December the only way to get Sport Suspension and bigger wheels was to go Individual or the Samarkand Alloys. The Dealers only became aware of the Chicago Alloys when the car was officially released in March. I wanted the Deep Red Napa so Samarkands was the default choice. One I am happy with BTW :D

But the Akiros Alloys are listed as an accessory so as I said you may have to purchase them separately but they are the same size as the Le Mans so you could swap the tires over instead of purchasing new tires.

Ok - I think I got it now...
Something isn't quite right at the dealer side then.

I really like the look of the Akiros alloys - and should be a straight swap out with the existing Le Mans...as they are both the 17"'s so the dealers initial $$ just don't look right.
Will follow up. Good advice!

Im really looking forward to picking mine up...I think I have had my innings with BMW & its time for a change. My girlfriend has the new Golf & she loves it, plus it looks great too.
So Im kinda expecting great things from VW & my Eos! :)

Thanks again.
