I know this topic had been discussed in the past and I have read most of the posts, however, most of a year has passed and I want to know from those who purchased the fitted luggage how you like it now. What are the pluses and minuses. As far as accommadating the tool kit, I think I could take the tools out of the case and fit them in the spare tire area or even put them inside the luggage. Can the luggage be put in and removed while the top is down?

It's Christmas and I want to give our Eos and ourselves a gift.

Any comments would be welcome.

We already have other rolling luggage that gets the job done, just want something special.

Think you'll find it's not possible to access the luggage whilst the top is down because the gap is simply too narrow. It's 'fitted' because it makes maximum use of the available space.

That's what I was aftaid of, same problem we have now with our present luggage, just a little inconvient.

Now, I wonder if anyone that actually owns some could tell how well they pack and a little about their quality.

Mine will be coming with the luggage set as a freebie so I'll be able to comment on them in a week's time.

But the flight from the U.S. to the UK...and what is Matalan? I have luggage that is quite adequate, just looking for a little snob factor. It's Christmas, I have to think of something for the wife to get me and something for the Eos would double the pleasure.

Well, I've got my EOS with the freebie fitted luggage. Not sure what to say. It's a pair of fairly standard wheeled cases with retractable handles. Obviously rather squarer than standard suitcases, of reasonable quality I'd say.

In the boot, there's a gap above them under the boot cover, but not quite enough space for the wind deflector in its bag but then that would probably stop them being taken out when the roof is down (not tried that though).

Hey Steve...

Where are you going to get Eos fitted luggage in Colorado? From reading between the lines here, it seems like a European option.

As for putting the tool kit (jack, etc loosely around the spare), I gave that a half-hearted shot. The reason I backed out and put it back in the tool container is that there are some "small" items in the kit that would be easy to lose if they were out of the tool container. I suppose you could get a bag for these smaller items, but I certainly wouldn't want them rolling around making a racket and maybe disappearing from maybe a tire shop repairing a flat. I've lost stuff like this in the past.

Re getting the luggage out with the top down, I don't think that's a big problem. First of all for the most part, it would mean taking a road trip with the top down. If when pulling into a motel for the night, it's not very likely you're going to leave the top down overnight. But lets assume you're someone who might like to leave the top down for whatever reason. All you have to do is pop in the car, put the top up, take out your luggage, and then put the top back down.

If or when my wife and I take a trip in our Eos, the top will probably be up for high speed driving. But, if it's not, our baggage will be in the "top down storage area" and things we need during the day will be stored on the back seat under the wind screen deflector.

BobP, could you let me know if you can get the luggage out with the top down?
I'll have a go at the weekend (assuming it's not raining again!).

For interest I've taken a couple of pics. I found there's a little combination padlock included to secure the outside zip.

Thanks BobP for the pictures, now if we can find out if they can be removed with the top down.
And Eos Up, we do travel alot with the top down at 80+. On a trip to California last August, we had luggage for three adults under the luggage cover, but had to put the top up when we stopped for the night to get the luggage out. We often arrive at our destination before sundown, check in and then go out for the evening, perfering to leave the top down until we turn in for the night. We also have a large cooler bag we use to hold "day things" in the back seat. The fitted Eos luggage is available on line, although a little pricy in my mind. As for the tool kit, I have some ditty bags that I don't use, so I could put the small bits in one of them and pack it in the wheel well or the luggage. Would love to visit Washington this year if time permits.

and the answer is no. You can't get the luggage in or out with the top down.

I got the dealership to include the luggage in the price of the car. Luggage is quite good quality, although made in China, not worth buying, but great as a freebie. Can't take it out with roof down, but we always put roof up when we leave it anywhere for security purposes and to keep the leather clean, don't want any bird s..t on it, and we have big birds out here!! so not a problem. Unfotunately last time we used it at the airport they put a hole in it, so can't be that strong. Holds a lot though and very neat!!
