Lighting was low last night so I tried to take a few HDR shots. They didnt come out as well as I would have liked; have some work to do I guess.

Wow! Very artistic! Don't suppose you took them using an Eos camera too?! ;)

Lovely! what's HDR? When I went up the CN tower some 20+ years ago, I'd never had imagined driving an EOS... Ok I think you've started a competition for EOS pictures at sunset... ;-)

Very moody and beautiful - I love the skyline; I think you got it just right. Of course, the car would look good ANYWHERE which is lucky for me who has no idea about taking a photograph artistically!

Thanks all!

HDR = high dynamic range. Your eye balls have the ability to view a scene with very different light levels (dark up front with a bright sky); but a camera cannot. To take a HDR photo, you take a few pictures, each at differnt exposures (to get the different light levels) - don't move the camera! Then you combine them into a single picture (with photoshop).

These arent the best exapmles, but I'm learning (wasnt supposed to be moody CIB) :)

Daneel,
Great photos even if your HDR is not up to scratch!
I notice you have the AVIC F900 BT set. Do you have any problems with it? I find that the AM reception is virtually non existant. When using the phone, recipients can hardly hear me & I wonder if there is any way of increasing the sensitivity of the microphone. The microphone is situated in the main instrument binnacle, directly under the tachometer. Other than that, I find it a great unit & the 3D on the SATNAV is great.
Kind regards,
John.

So, what's the story with the license plate? Doesn't look like any Canadian plate i've ever seen? At first, I thought the background was somewhere in China.

Yup - Plate is a faker! The car is registered in New York State, so I kind of circumnavigated the Ontario (I'm in Toronto now) "front plate" law. Digits on the plate match the NYS registration and back plate though.

I just liked the look of the plate with that width vs. N. American plates. I still have to get rid of the chrome line underneath the badgeless grill, but painting that requires the removal of the whole front bumper. Summer project.

John, I like the AVIC-F900BT, but (I think I posted on another thread here) the blue-tooth is pretty useless. No matter where you mount the mic, no one can hear you. The AVIC-F900BT was pretty useless before the firmware updates, now it works moderately well. I think their GPS is the best around (map and nav wise) and the iPod control is better than any other system I've seen but the whole thins is still slooowww.

Daneel,
Have to agree with your comments regarding the GPS & the Ipod controls. I think they are great. Shame about the Bluetooth - it seems to take 2 clicks on the phone for it to recognise that it wants to make the connection. Although I can hear the recipients of my calls very well, they can hardly hear me. I'll leave a note on their website & see if they can upload an update to sort this.
Thanks for your comments.

Good luck trying to get a response from Pioneer. I'm sure they have moved on from the AVIC series firmware updates. I would be surprised if they publish another one.

You may get more / better info from: http://www.AVIC411.com
