What year/reg is it? Is it manual or DSG?

According to the May 08 edition of Glass's Guide the basic trade value for a 2007 (07 reg) Eos 2.0 TFSi Sport with NO extras and 14K miles (cost £23412) would be £19875 and a dealer should retail it for £21375.

Since you have over £5K of extras (some of them very desirable like Nappa leather) you should get maybe a third or half of their cost back, so the car would be worth maybe £24000 on a Dealer's forecourt! More if it's newer, less if it's older.

So you're definitely not asking for too much; more like too little!

thanks
the car is a 2006 06 manual
if it was auto i would not be changing but the wife wont drive it, some would think thats a bonus though :)
and by the way a dealer only offered me £500 for all the extras, then went ahead and stuck it on his web page for £22850, in fact its still there

OK. For a basic 2.0T Sport with 10K Glass's lists Dealer Retail price of £20100 and a buy-in value of £18600. If you add in £1000 for the extras (which they ought to be worth but the dealer will always say you get nothing for the extras except when he's trying to sell you them...) that's £19600 to sell to a dealer or a sticker price on dealer's forecourt £21100.

At £22850 he's obviously asking a lot for the extras.. Your asking price of £19850 is probably a bit low for a private sale considering all the extras. It should be worth £21000/21500 or even a bit more, but then finding someone to pay that in the current economic climate might be a bit hard...

good deal for someone like you said and a warning to others of the pitfalls of buying new with depreciation
plus should stick around that price with summer coming and the EOS being What Cars 'convertible of the year'
