I have been shopping for tires and have been wondering if any of you have used 225/40-18 sized tires versus the 235/40-18 tires that come on the Eos. I've noticed that Jettas and GTIs use this size tire on their 18" wheels so I wondered if this would cause any issues. Just trying to open up some different tire combinations. I notice it would also lower the side wall just slightly which might give a slightly more aggressive look.

The only issues I would see is some speedo error and maybe a little less grip with the slightly narrower tread. Ride may not be affected very much, stiffer if anything.

I am looking at 245/40R18 tyres. Slightly wider and taller, should soften the ride and enable the speedo to read close to actual.

Hi,

I received my EOS with Chicago 18" + 235/40/18 tyres but after reading the certificate and made calculs, It's not correct for the TDI 140 CV version ... Here in Belgium, the car will be reject for the technical control ... So, I'll change to 225/40/18 wich is the correct value for the TDI version ... Note : with the 235 my kilometers and speed counters don't indicate the real values !
