Hang in there, its worth the wait. Once you try it will be hard to stop yourself from taking the car everywhere. From other posts and my experience you can find yourself driving for miles just for the joy of it.

May the time pass swiftly for you and the excitement build (that's part of the fun),

Cheers

Thanks Graham,
now looking for cheap [Good] insurance, and GAP cover, have you any ideas.

Terry
I went with Direct Line because I was already with them and they gave good service and a competitive quote.

I thank a quite a few owners here are with Direct Line as well. Gap insurance I did not need so I can't help perhaps someone else here could help.

Cheers

Hi Furrydice,

Have you seen the thread on gap insurance at

http://www.vweosclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140

I wasn't sure whether to go for it but managed to find cover for £199 as opposed to £399 from VW. Mentioned this to the dealer when they tried to sell it when I picked the car up and they agreed to price match without a problem :)

Might be worth you trying this approach.

You'll enjoy the car when you get it - especially if the weather keeps up like this :)

My advice would be to get it. And if you still don't think it is a good idea go and get it.

Our previous car was an Audi A2, was 20 months old when the proverbial little old lady failed to stop at a roundabout and damaged front door pillar, two doors, two wings and some suspension arms - structure OK and no air bags went off. £18k new and was written off, valuation £9.5k.

The gap insurance was the best £400 we have ever spent (if we had known what we know now we would have paid less) as it paid the difference of £8.5k and was the difference between replacing the A2 with a golf or an EOS (which she wanted to buy later this year anyway when the A2 was 3). And she got the EOS a year early.

We have gap on the EOS as well, cost us £200ish - just google gap insurance.
