Hey there!
I've been reading this forum for some time now, and thought i should take the time to say hi. I'm getting a 2.0 TDI EOS in the next 2 weeks! Finally!
I'm a mechanical engineer, and was at the plant in Portugal where the EOS is made (still have some acquaintances there) for some months doing a project for my graduation from college. I got to know the entire factory, the EOS production line, the Sharan production line and the Sirroco Prototypes and final production models. I can tell you that the EOS was not an easy "child"... It was/is a difficult car to manufacture, the hard top is troublesome, and there where some problems with tolerances earlier on. All this aside, the car is put together with care and attention. No one is forcing anything on, everyone takes their time to assemble the parts, the production line doesn't feel "rushed". Also, the cars are built on a beautiful "rubber rolling carpet"! It's a great car, and one the people in Portugal are very proud to build!
I'd like to thank this forum for all the great info I found here, and if I can help you guys in any way I'll be glad to!
Best regards, Tiago
