Well, a sad day really. After having my Eos new since March, I have now rejected it. I've been quiet on here recently whilst all this got sorted.

In a nutshell, in the first week of having the car, I noticed a drip of water dropping onto the flaps that flip up adjacent to the rear seats on both sides after rain. The dealer had it in for repair, and i took the car back, but it re appeared after a couple of weeks. I had a bit of a think about whether this was something I could live with, but soon realised that every time it rained, I was wondering whether the leak was there. The car went back to the dealer a further four times, but within a couple of weeks, the drips would return.

I then instigated the rejection procedure, and to cut a long story short, VW sent their own engineer up to examine the vehicle. We have agreed on a car swap, so I've now placed an order for a new Scirocco 2.0 TSI, with the DSG gearbox, with a few extras to make up the price of the equivalent Eos.

I am sorry to be parting with my Eos, but I just couldnt accept the fact that a car of this price and quality should have any leaks. The dealership lubed all the seals, checked everything over, but still the drips returned.

I shall be around for a while yet though, as I'm still in my Eos until the Scirocco arrives.

Sorry to hear your leaving the band of Eos owners. However looks like you will be one of the few with the new Scirocco + DSG and turbo. Lucky old you. Best of luck

My Eos does this too but only when I wash it - perhaps it is something I should keep an eye on in the future as I assumed it was just me being over zealous with my washing...

I have just taken mine in to have a split rubber seal replaced where the sunroof section slides back, anyway they have told me there's quite a bad leak on the roof as the carpet is stained in the rear footwell, plus waters getting in the boot. Suddenly they offered me a hire car and everything. This in itself makes me worried as normally you have to jump through a hoop to get one.

I did a lot of poking around on the internet at the weekend and I'm upset to find out just how big of a problem the roof leaks are on the Eos! It would seem mines always been leaking but I didnt realise. They think some modified seals will do the trick but i'm not so sure.

Lots of people seem to be returning their cars over and over for the same problem, and reading this thread makes me vary nervous!

As this inital fix seems quite non intrusive of the main roof i'm happy to let them do the work. It's the seal/gutter underneath the flap that rotates on the side of the boot lid they say is letting water into the side compartment. But if this doesn't wrk I think I'm quite within my rights to bounce the car back at them.

Theres NO way i'm prepared to be a guinnea pig while they keep taking my car apart to try things out when this is clearly a design fault! I aint paying £500 a month for that I can tell you!!

Best bit about it is the technician opened the roof half way to show me what the fix involved IN DRIZZLE outside, NICE ONE!

Mine had a small leak, but lubricating the seals seems to have fixed it...

The seals are actually quite well designed, so there aren't that many places where it can realistically leak...

Where the seals join above the rear window is where mine was leaking... Seems to be OK now...

Uh-oh....noticed a manky wet musty smell in my car. Tried blowing the smell away (as the fans were always pointed towards the windows to clear them as they fogged up so often I turned them around to blow out towards myself and the passenger seat). Unfortunately the next morning the same smell was in the car. Think I'm going to do a full investigation and under the mats on the carpets will be my first stop, also in the boot.

I wonder if thats why the sunroof has been redesigned on the 2009 model?

I will not be driving my car for a month and i was thinking what can i do to spot leeks over this time, mother in law suggested that i pop kitchen roll down on the carpets which will show if they have absorbed any leeks :) Anyone tried this if there car are outside but not used for some time??
